DISCUSSION
Based on the result from the dB Bati 32 software, there are two results of
background noise which is comes from one source of speakers. The result that appear
in the software indicate the background noise that occur in the conference room after
all the operation that produce sound such as the lights are switch off. The ID=0 and
ID=1 in the graphs and tables show the result of the background music from channel
1 and channel 2 respectively. Generally, the limit of background noise level (dBA) for
the conference room is below 38 (<38). It is means that if value of background noise
that is larger than 38 is not suitable for the conference activity.
At channel 1, the background noise value is 40.57 dBA at 4000 Hz. Based on
the specification, the value of background noise should be less than 38 dBA in order
to get a better sound system in the conference room. The 40.57 dBA is slightly louder
for the conference room with the difference of less than 3 dBA. There might be some
minor improvement to do so that the rooms can be used for conference room. It is
because of the background noise value for the rooms is only slightly louder than the
maximum value of the specification.
While at channel 2, the value of background noise at frequency 4000 Hz is 37.9
dBA. The 38 dBA is the maximum background noise in specification standard. The
value of 37.9 dBA is suitable for the conference activity since the value from the test
was less than the requirement specification standard.
Next is the reverberation time (RT). The reverberation time result that
conducted during the test were shown in the graph above. Initially, the result for
reverberation time has two result for every channel. So, there will be four result for
the total reverberation test in the conference room because it was only tested at two
points. The suitable value of reverberation time at the conference room is between 0.6
s to 1.2 s.
For channel 1, at the first graph appear in the software, the average
reverberation time was 0.68 seconds. While for the next graph was 0.66 seconds. For
this channel, the values for both graphs was in the range for comfort reverberation
time which is in 0.6 s to 1.2 s.
Next, for channel 2, the average value of reverberation time for the first graph
was 0.67 s and for the second graph was 0.69 s which is both of this value also fit
with the requirement for the standard reverberation time.
