In this department, I am  Assist the guests who are about to check in at the front

following tasks:  Assist the guests who are conducting ocular for their
weddings and style in the hotel
 Helping the sales and reservation department in
answering phone calls

Observed strengths of the  The sales and reservation staff are very polite in answering

 They know how to get the heart of their customers by
being kind and helpful

Observed weaknesses of  Sometimes they were not able to transfer the information

result to small problems

Problems Encountered (if,  I found it hard first to assist and answer the guest’s
any) inquiries because I am not yet familiar with other facilities
of the room.

Learning Experiences  Sales and reservation department is one of the front liners
at the hotel. They are required to be attentive all the time.
While assisting and approaching guests they must be note
every detail of the guest’s statement. You should also
provide numerous tips for yourself to attract guests.

 As soon as received the confirmation from the guest, they
quickly make an event order and distribute it on the

Observed weaknesses of  Since there are only 2 sales and reservation department
the department: staff, there are times that they their tasks are overlapping
when there are guests who personally arrived for inquiries
and guests from phone calls.

Problems Encountered (if,  I find it hard to answer some of the guests’ inquiries
any) because I am not yet familiar with the rates and their
membership policy so I have to call a staff to assist them.

Learning Experiences  Being a trainee at the sales and reservation department,


you must be careful in answering guest calls to avoid
complains and be able to gain the guests’ trust and
satisfaction.

 Helping the F&B department in setting up the table and
dispatching the food at the buffet after the wedding

Observed strengths of the  The sales and reservation department is very


department: accommodating. The staffs are very neat and presentable.
They are always smiling and always willing to answer and
provide help the guest’s for them to feel satisfied in a very
polite and kind way.

Observed weaknesses of  They were not able to communicate efficiently to some of


the department: the concerned department of the hotel like the kitchen
therefore minor complaints were received
Problems Encountered (if,  Some of the guests experienced delay in receiving rice
any) because the kitchen department wasn’t able to provide
enough rice so the sales and reservation department have
to explain the situation to the guests on a very polite an d
understanding way.

Learning Experiences  Being at the sales and reservation department you must
be able to know how to handle guest complains. While an
event is being held at the hotel, you must be very
attentive and approachable in attending to the guests’
wants and needs.

Observed strengths of the  The sales and reservation department staff are always

hearts by being sincere and kind in approaching them. As
much as possible they always wanted to provide the needs
of the guests urgently.

the department: guests are inquiring and because the staff lacks in number
there are times that they were not able to answer phone
calls immediately

Learning Experiences  Being a part of the sales and reservation team, you must
always be very approachable. You must be sincere in
giving the wants and needs of the customer. You must be
very careful in answering their questions. You must also be
very honest so the customer’s will never feel
disappointed.
