MAPEH 7

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Identify the difference between religious or secular festival and seasonal
or no-secular festivals in the Philippines
b. Appreciate the importance of festivals on the lives of the Filipinos.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Philippine Festivals
Reference: Cipriano, E. et al “ Our World of MAPEH,”Rex Book Store, Inc. 2016.
Materials: PowerPoint presentation, laptop, book, marker.

III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1) Prayer
2) Greetings
3) Checking of attendance
4) Review of the previous discussion
B. Motivation
The teacher will present a video of the different festivals celebrated in
the Philippines. After presenting the prepared videos, the teacher will
now ask to the students if they already have an idea for the topic to be
discussed.
C. Activity
The teacher will group the class into 2 groups and ask representative
every group. Then, the teacher will now present the prepared 4pics in
1word activity and let the representative of each group to guess the
word.
D. Analysis
After presenting the motivation and activity, the teacher will now ask the
following:
1 What have you observed with the video presented?
2 May I know, what is the reason why are we celebrating festivals?
E. Abstraction
The teacher will now discuss the Philippine festivals.
 Religious or secular festivals
 Seasonal or non-secular festivals
 Sample of Philippine festivals
F. Application
The teacher will group the class into 3 groups and have them write the
festival they know either secular or religious festival or seasonal or non-
secular festival.
G. Assignment
The teacher will give an assignment in regards to research some of the
festivals celebrated in the country.
