Program : Master of Engineering Management (MEnM)


Course Title : Seminar in Management & Leadership Development
Course Code : EnM 222

I. Course Description: Emphasis of this course is the various leadership styles as they apply to the
management of organizations. It includes the study of leadership environment such as organization and
progress, policy making and decision making processes, etc. Analysis of institutional goal system, inputs,
power motivation, values and cultural, internal and external factors and their relationship will be covered
to decipher the leadership myth and future relationship.

II. Credit: This is a 3-unit course, administered for 3 hours a week which is equivalent to 54 hours or 18
weeks a semester.

III. Course Outcomes: At the end of the course, the student should be

Specifically, they should be able to:


1. Apply new insights and directions, new culture based principles and environmental needs for
educational and managerial leadership in the Philippine setting.
2. Learn and practice leadership behavior-personality style, traits, values and culture to strengthen
one’s profession, quality of life, and the Philippines society for the year 2019 and beyond.

IV. Course Methodology and Requirements


Students, individually or by group, will be assigned to discuss/report on certain topic/s as
enumerated in the herein course outline utilizing appropriate multimedia or visual presentation. Copy of
the papers to be presented should be distributed to the professors and members of the class. After the
presentation, there will be a question and answer portion with the professor serving as
facilitator/moderator. The professor shall provide inputs as the need arises at any given point.

V. System of Grading

The student shall be graded and/or credited according to the following criteria and corresponding
weight:
Final Examination - 40%
Class Participation/Report - 30%
- 30%
Total - 100%
