9. TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES

9.1 Troubleshooting Guidelines

9.1.1 Equipment Protection

Take precaution against static electricity when handling internal electronic parts.
Wear a properly grounded bracelet to avoid equipment damage.

Disconnect the AC Mains power cable from its supply terminal before cleaning the
equipment. Water, soap or other liquids, if allowed to drip into the equipment they
may cause electrical short circuits. Do not place food or beverage containers on any
part of the equipment. They can tip over and introduce conductive substances into
the electrical circuits.

9.1.3.9 Power Supply Adjustments

The MPU Power Supplies are factory adjusted to +5.05V output.
The voltage can vary by time and temperature. A typical symptom of a too
low system voltage is H-303/H-301 errors. Voltage measurement should be
performed on the RC_IO board. In case need, adjust the ‘sys.’ and/or ‘iso.’
voltages using the V.adj potentiometer on the P.S. electronic board (refer to
chapter 2 for drawings).

9.1.4 MPU (PC) Troubleshooting Flow Diagrams

The following section describes the flow of troubleshooting in a
number of common MPU problems.
Required tools:
− Phillips screwdriver
− Grounding attachment

Important:
− Non-functioning MPU means that the MPU is not showing any sighs of
work - no LED’s on, no noise and nothing on the monitor display.
− To update the BIOS see Appendix E.
− Boot process is the process that the MPU performs from the power up to the
stage when the application software starts properly.
