I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. identify academic text;
2. differentiate academic text to non-academic text; and

D. Value Focus:
C. Presentation of the Academic texts are typically formal. They have clearly structured
lesson introduction, body and conclusion. They also include credible sources
which are properly cited. They also include list of references in
developing the academic paper. The four features of language use are
formality, objectivity, explicitness and caution.
D. Application Group Activity:
1. The teacher will ask the students to group themselves into four.
2. Each group will assign a leader and documenter.
3. Each member of the group will think of an issue using inquiry or research.
4. After five minutes, the group will share their responses to the rest of the
class.
V. Evaluation:
Evaluation Direction: Read each item carefully. Identify each sentence whether inquiry or
research. Write your answer on a piece of paper.
