Our Little Black Dog

Our little black dog barks at each tiny thing -

A fly on a fence or a bird on the wing,
A leaf on the tree or a kite in the sky,
A crumpled up newspaper scurrying by,
She grumbles at gravel and pebbles and stones.
She bellows at branches and dirty old bones.
She trumpets at insects, a beetle or bee,
But bark at a stranger? No, not she!
We wanted a watchdog, and that's what we got
Except that she watches the things she should not!
Good leather shoes that are easy to chew,
Soft comfy cushions, so fluffy and new,
She watches for letters and papers and books;
She watches for food scraps each time mother cooks;
She watches for offers to sit on a knee,
But watch for a stranger? No, not she.

Sukhna Lake: Sukhna Lake is an artificial lake where you can rent boats and go rowing
or just stroll around its 2 km perimeter . You will always find one or the other state's
food festival in the premises, besides a fast food centre and even a restaurant and bar.

Museum and Art Gallery: The art gallery in sector 10 is open everyday except on
Mondays and contains a modest collection of Indian stone sculptures dating back to
the Gandhara period, together with some miniature paintings and modern art. The
adjacent museum has fossils and implements of pre-historic humans found in India.
