SOP FOR CEP PUMP START /STOP/CHANGE OVER /ISOLATION

PROCEDURE

 Check the condenser hot well level is normal


 Ensure the feeder is normalized and push button released condition
 Check the suction valve, balancing valve, discharge isolation valve is open
condition
 Ensure the minimum recirculation isolation and control valve is open condition
 Ensure the hot well level control valves close and isolation valve is open
condition
 Ensure the line drains and vents are closed
 Check the bearing oil level is normal
 Start the pump in local/remote mode and check the direction of rotation.
 To check the current ,vibration , pressure, ∆p and bearing temp
 If all the parameters are normal gradually open the hot well level control valve to
maintain the hot well level
 Adjust the level control valve and recirculation control valve to maintain the
header pressure 12 kg/cm2 and hot well level 350mm.
 Record the pressure, vibration, current, ∆p and bearing temp

AUTO MODE SELECTION


 Check the stand by pump suction ,discharge and balancing valves are open
 Ensure the standby pump feeder normalized condition
 All the parameters of the running pump is normal select the standby pump in auto
mode

PUMP CHANGEOVER PROCEDURE


 change the standby pump in auto mode to manual mode
 check the standby pump feeder normalized condition
 check the standby pump suction valve, discharge and balancing valve open
condition
 start the standby pump in remote / local mode and check the direction of rotation
 check the pressure, current, vibration, ∆p and bearing temp
 If all the parameters are normal stop the previous running pump.
 select the standby pump in auto mode from manual mode
PUMP STOP PROCEDURE
 Both the CEP pump can be stopped, if the STG stopped and the hot well temp
nearer to atmospheric temp.
 Ensure the above mentioned conditions are satisfied stop the pump

PUMP ISOLATION PROCEDURE


 Ensure the pump stopped condition
 Check the feeder was isolated and LOTO applied
 Close the suction ,discharge and balancing valve
 Open the pump drain valve
