2. The ethical standards in writing related literature;
3. The formulation of conceptual framework
4. The research hypotheses (if appropriate)
5. The definition of terms as used in the study
Performance Standard: The learner is able to
1. select, cite, and synthesize judiciously related literature and use sources according
to ethical standards.
2. Formulate clearly conceptual framework, research hypotheses (if appropriate),a nd
define terms used in study
3. Present objectively written review of related literature and conceptual framework.

A. Activity: In a piece of paper, ask the learners to copy the following and using the research topic they are
interested in fill the two columns.

B. Analysis: 1. What keywords are you going to use in looking for literature relevant for your research?
2. Where will you look for these keywords?
3. How are you going to identify if these sources are relevant to your topic or not?
4. What do you do if you are reviewing related literature?

C. Abstraction: Discuss the definition of “Review of Related Literature” and the different purposes in writing a
literature review.

D. Application: What misconceptions about writing the review of related literature could you identify?

IV. EVALUATION: Fill in the blanks with the correct answers to complete the text.
Review of related literature happens in two ways: (1) _________ and systematic review.
