Let’s multiply with the Giraffe and the Pelly!
In class today, we read the book The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me by
Roald Dahl. For homework, there are three (3) multiplication questions
you will answer.

Question 1
The Giraffe stretches his long neck to peak inside a small window of the Hampshire House. He
observes that the length of window is 10 metres, and the width of the window is 7 metres.
What is the total area of the window? Demonstrate your calculation below:

Question 2
The Giraffe and the Pelly have helped the dancing Monkey clean many windows. The Pelly is
helping the Giraffe clean much bigger windows now. If the length of a window is 18 metres, and
the width is 20 metres, what is the total area of the window? Demonstrate your calculation
below:

Question 3
The Giraffe and the Pelly have cleaned so many windows so far! Now they are going to clean
the biggest window of the Hampshire House. If the length of the window is 32 metres, and the
width of the window is 30 metres, what is the total area of the window? Demonstrate your
calculation below:
