INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND

Popular science author Steven Johnson once said, “If you look at
history, innovation doesn't come just from giving people incentives; it
comes from creating environments where their ideas can connect.”
Investing in infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable
industrialization, and supporting technological development, research
and innovation are three driving forces for economic growth and
sustainable development. These drivers can help countries reduce
poverty by creating job opportunities, stimulating growth, and
encouraging the building and improvement of physical facilities that are
essential to the functioning of business and society. The longer a piece of
infrastructure is in place, the greater the resistance there is to replacing it.
Much like an aging tree, the root system that feeds it becomes
enormous.That said, the life-cycle of infrastructure is getting shorter and
we need to build resilient infastructure to sustain the needs of our
industry.
