Competences: - Be able to recognize the differences and classification of the following grammatical elements:
noun, verb, adjective, and adverb.
- Understand the elements that conform a simple sentence and how to construct them.
- Identify differences in verb to be. (ser, estar en español)
Class Duration: 50 minutes
Key Vocabulary: Noun, verb, adjective, adverb.
Grammar: - Subject + verb
(He + is dreaming)
- Subject + verb + adjective
(She + is + tall), etc.
INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURE
Timing How will I…
Warm up
10 minutes - Rules of the class: punctuality, commitment, use of Spanish will be allowed only if the
teacher needs to explain an idea, the student must bring his homework ALWAYS, as the
teachers must ALWAYS come with a prepared class.
- Explain some basic rules of phonetics, especially the constant use of Ә ‘schwa’


10 minutes - Structure: Explain how language works… All languages have the following elements.
Subject + Verb + Direct object/ Adjective/ Adverb, etc. Explain their function 1 by 1.

- Ask the ss to write one example.

- Explanation of noun - Explanation of verbs


10 minutes - What are nouns? - What are verbs? Actions
- How can we identify them? - How can we identify them?
Ex. The red mug is on the table Ex. The birds are flying
- Explanation of adjectives
What are adjectives?
How can we identify them?
Ex. Your watch is small
Introduction to pronouns: Personal Pronouns
10 minutes I am sleeping

She is on holidays

Activity; Re-arrange the sentence
Make the ss answer the activity. If he can’t finish it, ask him to bring it tomorrow as
