Transmitter
Transmitter is a continuation tool from the sensor, which is one element of the
process control system. To measure the number of processes used a measuring
instrument called a sensor (the part that deals directly with the measured media),
where the transmitter then converts the signal received from the sensor to a standard
signal. The transmitter can be connected to various receivers such as pointing
instruments, recording devices, regulators that have standard input signals.
The use of transmitters that provide standard signals in the form of pneumatic signals
or electrical signals from process variables measured to other equipment that requires
them include: Other equipment such as indicators, recorders that work with the same
standard signal, allows sending signals to a considerable distance and fast and safe
suppress operating costs and maintenance costs.
In instrumentation there are two signaling systems that can be used at the transmitter,
namely pneumatic signals and electrical signals. Based on the two systems the
transmitter can be classified into two types, namely: Electric transmitte and
Pneumatic transmitters. Pneumatic Signal Transmitter is a system that uses
compressed air to send signals. The amount of air pressure used is around 3-15 psi.
Electric Signal Transmitter is a system that uses electrical signals to send signals. The
range used for this transmission is 4-20mA and 1-5 VDC.
Based on the amount that needs to be changed the transmitter can be classified as
temperature transmitter, pressure transmitter, flow transmitter .Pressure Transmitter is
a sensor to determine the value of pressure with the working principle of receiving
pressure from liquid or gas to be measured. The results of the pressure measurement

will be converted into Analog values in the form of electric current, with a very small
current value of milli Ampere. Usually the range between 4 mA to 20 mA.
Flow Transmitter is a tool used to measure the flow rate in a flow pipe. The measured
flow rate is fluid, be it gas, steam, or liquid. Sensors used to measure fluid flow rates
are usually orifice, venturi and others.
The advantage is they are made of piezoelectric materials, which are immune to both
radiation and electromagnetic fields. Pressure transmitters can also be connected to
other systems, such as electrical circuits, and can be calibrated to measure pressure
relative to atmospheric pressure.
The Remote Control Transmitter circuit uses the electricity network. The transmitter
circuit in this device is actually very simple, which only generates a 36KHz signal
and superimposes this 36KHz signal over a 220 volt electricity voltage. In this
transmitter section does not require much supply so it does not need to be made its
own power supply so that the supply power is made without a voltage-reducing
transformer. Part of the Remote Control Transmitter Circuit The range of transmitters
consists of 3 main blocks, namely: controll, oscillator and supply.
