Why do you want to join Placement Committee?

Not more than 150 words

I want to join the Placement Committee because it is the role with the most number of

Responsibilities, which in effect gives one the most exposure and opportunities to learn. Interacting
with various HR’s of Companies, I’ll get to learn how communication works in the Corporate world,

being responsible for placing the students I’ll get to face a lot of criticism which will make me

resilient. Being on the highest possible level of an organisation/institution will give me an insight into

how things really work and gives me experiences for my life. Negotiations is an important skill and

being a part of the placement committee I’ll be doing a lot of negotiations equipping me with an

important skill. Being an IMT student I will always be indebted for being selected and in return

would like to work for the college and get the best possible placements for the students of IMT
Ghaziabad.

What do you think is the job of a Placement Committee member?

How can you contribute to the Placement Committee?

Not more than 300 words

The jobs include getting companies on board for summer and final placements and planning out the

placement exercise, providing 10 opportunities for students to getting placed. Mentoring the

students to make them understand what the companies want. Keeping an open line of communication
to the companies through HR’s regularly interacting with them, creating and managing the profile
database of the students, being able to multi task, pushing for industry-student interactions through
guest lectures and other initiatives. Being fair to all students with no exceptions in providing
opportunities. Negotiating with HR’s to get the best possible profile’s, Remuneration packages and
lowering the cut offs for the students.

I can contribute to the Placement Committee as I have developed a drive to excel, and have set

myself goals which include working to the best of my abilities and keep pushing on. I have had

experience in managing the expectations of more than 200 people in a city which would help a lot in

the attempt to get the best for the students of IMT Ghaziabad and facing them. Communication and

building relations with people is one of the most important skill needed, and I can maintain good

relations with Companies. Having experience in teaching I know that each person is different from

other, and mentoring the students would require different tactics to prepare them the best. I am a

complete team player; I would be able to contribute by maintaining a good rapport with other

members. I have a changed perspective on how actively I want to get involved with activities and

now I am fully dedicated to being highly involved, so my Commitment to the Placement Committee
would be the highest.

What do you know about the existing placement process at IMT

Ghaziabad? How is it different from processes conducted at other B

Schools? *

Not more than 300 words

The placement process at IMT Ghaziabad is a rigorous one, starting with training of students within the
first month of joining college to handle and face recruiters, this process is a long process which goes
on till the final placements are done, to inviting companies and managing the summer and final
placements being kicked off by the ‘Placement Week’ in September and December. The Back end
process starts as soon as the Placement committee forms, by reaching out to old and existing
recruiters and making the first impressions on new recruiters. Before the Placement Week starts the
negotiations need to be done with the companies regarding the offers and packages.

The process is different from other B Schools in some respects. The placement week starts in

September and December for Summer and Final placements, this being one of the earliest starts to

the exercise providing us a longer time period for the greater batch size. Another important

difference is the Long Term Summer Internship which is a different concept and which requires a

very different approach to the usual 10-14 months’ internship approach.

Why do companies recruit from IMT Ghaziabad? *

Not more than 150 words

IMT Ghaziabad with its greater batch strength provides a greater opportunity to Companies to find

different types of Applicants for the different requirements in the Organization, making the process

cost effective while also fulfilling their major requirements. IMT Ghaziabad being a 35-year- old

institute has a rich heritage and the strong Alumni provides a good example to Companies on how

brilliantly the students are trained, mentored and prepared for the life. Apart from this it has strong

industry linkages and provides regular industry-student interactions which makes sure that students

are primed with the best practices of corporate life. The strong and experienced faculty gives a

strong credibility to the Companies regarding the standards of the college and the students.

Companies may also want to have interns for a longer period which gets fulfilled though the Long

Summer Internship(LSIP).

What are your ideas to place such a large batch? *

Not more than 150 words

My Strategies for to place such a large batch would include the following:

Collecting the database of the Students and analysing them to understand the requirements of each
student, having very frank interactions with them to understand what abilities and skills they require to

work on and trying to provide them with the same. Along with this having sessions with them to make
them understand

how to conduct themselves in the Corporate world. Collating a database of potential recruiters,

interacting with HR’s to understand what the requirements are and managing these expectations to the

best of the ability. Getting recruiters from diverse backgrounds to match the diversity of our college

and getting the Alumni base through collaboration with Alcom to consider recruiting from their own

college. Creating Innovative events where Potential Recruiters get to interact with the students

where they directly understand our potential and advantages of Recruiting our students.
