INTRODUCTION
ABOUT TECHgium®

TECHgium®, in its second edition, is a unique industry-academia initiative that offers talented
engineering students a nationwide platform to solve real-world engineering problems for global
technology companies. The initiative saw over 9000+ students from over 220 reputed engineering
institutes participating in the event. The primary objective of the initiative is to ignite young minds
and provide exposure to real challenges faced by the global industry, thereby making it more than
just a project or a challenge. Through this platform, students will get an invaluable opportunity to
work on futuristic technologies and augment the solution development team of LTTS, while getting
recognized as a TECHgium® innovator. Importantly, LTTS is helping build a talent pool for the nation
who will bring a practical solutions mindset to the industry and not limit it just to theory. Supporting
them would be the faculty and top industry experts, thereby exposing them to the industry early in
their career.

I heard about TECHgium® as a program conducted by LTTS where Mechanical Engineers

were invited to participate and provide their ideas. Given, the limited opportunity in
core engineering domains, I immediately took this opportunity. The most important
learning here was the gap between industry and academia, which was bridged. The
problem statements were so complex and unique that it took most students days to
just understand and comprehend. TECHgium® brought out the true engineer in me, by
providing the guidance and opportunity to build a real Proof of Concept for a real industry
problem.
