Calculation - Equivalent Pressure Method

MAWP = 620.0 psig Allowable Flange Design Pressure at Design Temperature


Allowable MAWPA = 868.0 psig MAWP multiplied by "k" Factor

Equivalent Pressure (PE) = 604.9 psig


PE / MAWPA = 69.7% percent

STATUS = PASS

NOTES

1. Spreadsheet is for ASME B16.5 or ASME B16.47 Series A (larger than NPS 24) flanges.
2. Spreadsheet uses Raised Face (RF) or Ring Type Joint (RTJ) gaskets. RTJ gasket is Type R.
3. Spreadsheet calculates Gasket Reaction Diameter (G), and User may also manually input a value for G if required.
4. Recommended maximum values for MAWP Factor (k) are as follows:
1.5 - Low Hazard services (utilities, water, air, BFW, low pressure steam, etc.)
1.4 - Medium and High Pressure Steam
1.3 - Hydrocarbons, Glycol
1.2 - Sour Service, Hydrogen
1.1 - Lethal Service
