2. Scope of Works
This procedure will define the method to be used to ensure that electrical identification
installations and workmanship are correct and acceptable and shall conform to the
Contract Documents and Specification.
4. Storage
5. Pre-Installation
5.1 All materials and documentation relevant to this particular Section of works will be
checked by the Construction Department prior to the commencement of works. Ensure
that all materials to be installed are inspected and accepted by the Consultant.
5.2 Access to start the work will be confirmed that they are in a suitable condition for
permanent works to commence.
5.3 Coordinate installing electrical identification after completion of finishing
where identification is applied to field-finished surfaces.
5.4 Coordinate installing electrical identifying devices and markings prior to installing
acoustical ceilings and similar finishes that conceal such items.

6.2 Install labels where indicated and at locations for best convenience of viewing
without interference with operation and maintenance of equipment.
6.3 Lettering, Colors, and Graphics: Coordinate names, abbreviations, colors, and
other designations used for electrical identification with corresponding
designations used in the Contract Documents or required by codes and
standards. Use consistent designations throughout the Project.
6.6 Install Circuit Identification Labels on Boxes: Label externally on exposed boxes with
pressure-sensitive, self-adhesive plastic label on cover.
6.7 Color-Code Conductors: Secondary service, feeder, and branch circuit conductors throughout
the secondary electrical system.
a. Phase A : Red.
b. Phase B : Yellow
c. Phase C : Blue.
d. Neutral : Grey or Black.
e. Ground : Green / Yellow
6.7.2 Factory-apply color the entire length of the conductors, except the following field-
applied, color-coding methods may be used in lieu of factory-coded wire.
6.8.1 Conductors to Be Extended in the Future: Indicate source and circuit numbers.
6.8.2 Multiple Power or Lighting Circuits in the Same Enclosure: Identify each conductor
with source, voltage, circuit number, and phase. Use color coding for voltage and
phase indication of secondary circuit.
6.8.3 Multiple Control and Communications Circuits in the Same Enclosure: Identify each
conductor by its system and circuit designation. Use a consistent system of tags,
color coding, or cable marking tape.

6.9.1 Apply labels for each unit of the following categories of equipment.
a. Panel boards, electrical cabinets, and enclosures.
b. Electrical switchgear and switchboards.
c. Motor control centers.
6.9.2 Apply designation labels for disconnect switches, breakers, push buttons,
pilot lights, motor control centers, and similar items for power
distribution and control components above.
6.9.3 For panel boards, provide typed circuit schedules with explicit description and
identification of items controlled by each individual breaker.

8. Safety
8.1 All safety precautions shall be followed as per approved safety plan & procedure.
Ensure all involved persons are aware of the same.
8.2 Tradesman shall ensure that before leaving their working places, it must be clean,
tidy and free from rubbish.
