MOUTHWASH

Direction:
Dilute one capful in enough water and rinse
for 30 seconds. Do not swallow.

ASTRINGENT SKIN LOTION


Skin – largest organ
- 6% body weight
- pH 5-6
- used to toughen and shrink tissues,
reduces pore size
- used to decrease skin blanching
- irritant/caustic effect

Lactic acid
2-hydroxypropionic acid; Milk acid
- colorless or yellowish syrup
- miscible with water and alcohol
- corrosive
*10% sol’n antiseptic for neonates; anti
diaper rash

Alum
1:7 water, 0.5-5%

- considered as a dentrifice
- substances that are abrasive to
remove stain pellicles
- vehicle to introduce active
ingredient into the oral cavity
- paste, powder or liquid

- inherent consumer benefits, not

*pellicle – protein film that forms on the
surface of enamel by selective binding of
glycoproteins coming from saliva that
prevents continuous deposition of salivary
