ON THE ROAD TO RESILIENCE:

A Whole-of-Society Approach

General Objective:

To establish coherence and synergy at all levels in achieving disaster resilience aligned with the targets of
Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
through inclusive, collaborative, and participative implementation of the Philippine DRRM System and
Climate Change Action policies, plans, and programs.

Specific Objectives:
1. To provide a platform for a common understanding and appreciation of the issues and challenges
in the implementation of the Philippine DRRM System and climate change action system;

2. To present multi-stakeholders’ contribution in pursuing the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk
Reduction and its seven targets and the Sustainable Development Goals of 2015-2030 through
sharing of innovations, strategies and best practices for replication;

3. To institutionalize mechanisms for coherent, inclusive, integrated, and ecosystems-based risk


management of DRRM-CCA partnerships and collaboration, and common grounds for
engagement among multi-stakeholders; and

4. To recommend concrete ways forward through a Declaration of Commitment for the


integration and mainstreaming of Philippine DRRM System, the National Climate Change Action
system for the achievement of the over-arching goal of disaster resilience.
