The Written Word

The spoken word has many limits. Memory can be faulty at times. You remember something that was said
to you, few years from now, it can be distorted. Give it enough time, it can be forgotten. If it’s not recorded,
you don’t get to replay it over and over again if you want to.

That is why I understand why you find solace in the written word. In my written word, as you have said.
You can reread my long messages, experience the butterflies again every time you do. When you read my
past messages, you are talking to a past version of myself. You reread the thoughts I once thought, and you
feel the feelings I once felt.

It will always be my pleasure saying my I love yous, I miss yous, and I need yous, in every paper and device
conceivable, for they are immortal witnesses to our profound love. The years may change us --- and they
will --- but the written word that we created on these media will stay. It will remind us how the simple
moments of today are the memories of tomorrow.

Here’s to a life worth remembering. Together.
