Mazda Remote Programming

This document provides instructions for remotely programming up to 4 key fobs for a Mazda vehicle. The process involves turning the ignition key on and off 3 times within 10 seconds, opening and closing the driver's door 3 times, locking and unlocking the doors with a remote twice for each fob, and removing the key from the ignition once complete. Remote Programming Procedure

NOTE: All existing remotes are deleted and must be present during this procedure to work again.
Maximum 4 remotes

1. Open driver side door and leave open.


2. Lock and unlock driver's door using power lock switch or Electronic Window Lock Switch
3. Insert Key into ignition.
4. Turn the key to the ON position and return to Lock (OFF) Position.
Do this 3 times within 10 seconds.
Leave the key in the ignition in the Lock (OFF) position.
5. Close and open the drivers door 3 times.
Leave door open after this step.
6. Vehicle should respond by locking and unlocking the doors once.
7. Press lock button on remote TWICE.

Repeat step 7 for ALL remotes new and existing.

Remove key from ignition


Vehicle will respond a final time with a series of door lock and unlock cycles.

When training remotes, the old remotes are removed from memory during the training procedure.

Ensure all remotes (both old & new) are available to be trained at the same time. Up to 4 remotes can
be learnt by the vehicle.
