Opening Prayer:
Grace that you ask: Heavenly Father, I ask for your guidance for this moment as we
contemplate this morning. May everything we do begin with your inspiration, give us the grace
of knowledge so that we can easily understand and think. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Gospel: Mark 1:16-20
“The Call of the First Disciples”
As he passed by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting their
nets into the sea; they were fisherman, Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you
fishers of men.” Then they left their nets and followed him. He walked along a little farther and
saw James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They too were in a boat mending their nets.
Then he called them. So they left their father Zebedee in the boat along with the hired men and
followed him.

Reality: Putting Yourself

In the middle of the sea, we are riding a boat together with my friends Simon and his
brother Andrew. Jesus came and we saw him already and then he told us, to come with him and
he will make us fishers of men. We left our nets into the shore and hurriedly followed him even
though we have a lot of things to do. We also saw James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother
John. They also come with us and leave their nets in the shore.

Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for this moment that you had given to us, to
reflect and contemplate in this morning. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
