I am directed to invite a kind attention to this offi,ce letter No. 9-59/201,0-SPG dated 08-03-
2011 and 26-04-2011 wherein the syllabus for departmental exarnination in respect of PS GR. 'B'
and Sr. Postmaster was colTununicated.

2. The Department conducted the limited departmental cornpetitive Examinatrons on rurnkey

basis for the years 201,1 & 201,2. Many representations were teceii'ed in the said Examinations
a1lrcgrng inappropriate adoption of keys and also stating that certain quesdons were ptescdbed out of
the syllabus.

3- The Competent Auth o.ltry after a careful examination of &e matter has ordered to speci$r
the Postal Manuals/Reference matenal for the syllabus communicated in the above lettet as no such
reference books/material was prescdbed in the said syl1abus. The competent Authority constituted
a group of seniot officers. for examination of the issues and to make tecommendations.

4. The recommendations of the Constituted Committee have been examined and the
Cornpetent Authority approved the reference books/Manuals fiom which the Multiple Choice
Questions CI'ICQt) for Paper-I and Paper-II have to be prescribed. The reference books and
manuals soecifled is furnished in the Annexure-I.

Futther, the Competent Authority also ordered to prescdbe a cut-off date about the date
upto which the status position of rules, on which questions papers will be set. Accordirgly, it was
ordeted that the cut-off date will be the 31" December of the preceding yer in which a partj.cttlar
examinati.on is held/conducted.

5. These orders will take effect for a-11 the PS Gtoup 'B' Examiaations/Sr. Posbnastets
conducted after issue of this circuiar.

6. The Heads of Circles are therefore tequested for giving a wjde publicity for the contents of
this letter amongst all the concemed.
