The School had an initial enrollment of 2,400 which steadily increased, prompting the School to
lease other buildings.
In 1967, it set up its main site at 888 G. Puyat St., Quiapo, Manila.
For students who want to pursue higher education in business or management disciplines.
For students who want to take up higher education in social science disciplines.
For students who wants to pursue science technology related courses such as architecture and
engineering.
The scope of the curriculum is for those who doesn’t have a particular discipline in mind.
T.I.P’s Approach in introducing K-12 is by giving enough strands and appropriate spaces for those
disciplines to cater the ample number of students that is enrolled and is enrolling in the future.

Classrooms Requirements from National Building Code and DepEd
First requirements are Safety of the users, Sanitation of the structure and adequacy of the plan.
There are so many things to be consider. The classrooms must be well ventilated with proper
lighting and air flow to the classrooms. The recommended orientation of a school building in the
Philippines is a northwest-west to southeast-east axial direction.
The minimum classroom size shall be seven (7) meters wide by eight (8) meters long,
which is considered adequate for a class of 56 pupils. Desks or chairs may be arranged
in eight (8) rows with seven (7) desks in each row.
The design requirements prescribed in the National Building Code of school buildings
are the following:
Window openings shall be at least ten percent of the floor area of the room, provided
that such opening shall not be less than one square meter, except those in toilets
and baths which should be not less than one twentieth of the floor area f such rooms
.
The window openings shall be at least 1.5 meters high and from the column to
column in width. In any case, at least one classroom for any school shall be fitted out
with iron grills for safety purposes and with door locks as well.
The ceiling height of rooms with natural ventilation shall be not less than 2.70 meters
high from the floor.
The ceiling height of rooms with natural ventilation shall not be less than 2.85 meters
measured from the floor to the ceiling ; rooms provided with artificial ventilation shall
have ceiling not less than 2.40 meters.
The doors of the classrooms shall be at least 2 located on opposite ends on the
same side of the rooms or flush type swing out and with a minimum opening of 0.9
meter by 2.1 meters
Every corridor shall not be less than 1.10 meters wide and should be unobstructed.
Stairways serving an occupant load of 50 on less must be 1.1 meters wide.
Exterior walls shall be 1.5 meter wide concrete hollow blocks, with 12mm reinforcing
bars with 0.60 meter spacing.
The columns shall be at least 0.06 square meters reinforced concrete, preferably 0.2
meters by 0.3 meters with 16mm vertical bars and 10mm lateral ties with -0.15
outside centers.
Good Points
Not-So-Good Points
* From the DEPED, the school follows the exterior door swing.
* Canteen are nearby to the rooms to have easy access on the part of the students.
Bad points
* Classrooms are located infront of the administration building, by this setup, it would be easy for the
visitors to access the rooms.
* The noise coming from the rooms are heared thru the hallways.
* The coming of the visitors are not controlled, no waiting area for parents

COMFORT ROOMS
SUMMARY:
The comfort rooms are ideal, however the only downfall of the spaces is that:
-they are hard to find inside the whole establishment(with the exception of the executive
comfort room)
-they are semi-private
-they do not give ample fixtures(especially the male comfort room which only has one cubicle)

Designated Study Area for the students:
This is an essential space especially for those senior high students, T.I.P. gave an appropriate
space for the students to focus and do their projects. They were given enough set of tables and
chairs that follows DepEd requirements in terms of classroom space compliance. Instead of the
purpose of a classroom it was used for another important activity students must put their head
on.
Good Points:
The Area given was enough, there were three rooms with enough space and furniture that can
cater the student’s needs.
They made sure to put it far from the major road to avoid noise entering the room and
distracting the students inside.
The area was close to the senior high building and open space for practical reasons.
Bad Points:
It was too close to the parking instead which can cause minor issues to the students specifically
when they exit and enter the boundary.

GYMNASIUM
The TIP Gym is a covered structure that serves as an area where the students can do sporting activities,
dance practices and other extracurricular/physical activities.
The walls are painted gray and white, same as most of other interior spaces within the campus. The
floor is smoothed concrete. It seems as if functionality is taken into consideration when the gymnasium
was designed because there weren’t any aesthetical elements that can be observed.
Good points:
The TIP Gymnasium is well well lighted during the daytime. There are clerestory windows and openings
on spaces between the entrance and the roof that allows day light to illuminate the area.
The Gym is PWD friendly. They provided ramps on slightly elevated areas that can be accessed by
people on wheelchairs who at the sidelines.
It may not look like it but the Gymnasium is well ventilated, as we observed. The placing of opening such
as the entrance and the windows created the cross-ventilation effect, allowing air to flow through the
structure.
The Gymnasium is divided in the center by a few posts thus, creating a separate area for the basketball
court and the other for other activities.
Not so good points:
Huge ceiling fans, light bulbs and fluorescent lights are hung from the roof supports. These ceiling
obstructions make sport activities like volleyball dangerous because these objects might fall when hit by
a ball or other equipments.
The gym floor is smoothed concrete instead of wood. It also seems to be more slippery.
Despite the basketball court being separated, the gymnasium seemed to be small compared to the
amount of students it has to accommodate.
On the other side opposite to the basketball court, benches, tables and other equipments are scattered.
The posts on the center of the gym make the space look smaller and this also creates a divider that
prevents two areas to be merged into one huge space when necessary.

1. Parking lot is near the canteen the visitors has an easy access to the canteen they don't need
to enter inside the bldg.
2. The parking lot is also near the admission office , visitors has an easy access and doesn't
need to interrupt the students inside the school.
3. The school allot an enough parking
4. The school provide different entrance of the vehicle and the users for the safety of the users
especially the little ones
Bad points
1. The parking lot is not an easy access to the road . The vehicle have to enter the school
premisses. Is not safe for the students.
2. The driver will have a hard time to park because using the 90degrees parking lot the user
exert effort to park the vehicle
– 2.10 sq. m. per place The standard size for science laboratory is 18m x 7m
The Computer Room/Laboratory is a special instructional space necessary to meet the current
and future demand of modern technology.
The room shall provide at least a minimum space of 1.40 square meter per place and shall
accommodate at least ten (10) networked Personal Computers (PCs) with other necessities and
accessories, such as: • Computer tables and chairs • Proper electrical wirings and outlets • Air
conditioning units – 2 window type, preferably 1.5 each • Windows and doors with iron grills and
locks The standard size for computer laboratory is 18mx7m
Good points: -As I have observed the laboratory there is enough space and there are lot of
equipments that the students can use. -The lights used are fluorescent lamp and it is a kind of
ambient lighting. Fluorescent lamps can light up the whole room -Artificial ventilation is used as
well such as aircon but there are still windows for natural ventilation
Bad points:- I haven’t observed much flaws, All I noticed was not all labs were In one common
area.
