Overview
The Converged Wireless System (CWS) CWS-3050 is the latest models in the
CWS-3000 series (2x40W). CWS is a software-defined, multi-technology, multi-
CWS-3050 carrier base station product family that integrates baseband, radio, filter/power
amplifier, edge aggregation, and backhaul router into a single compact form factor
device. For common bands across 2G, 3G, and 4G, (such as Band 8), CWS supports

indicated in the last two digits of the model (ex. CWS-3050-08). The CWS-3050
station with integrated can utilize any type of preferred external antenna via a 4.3-10 low PIM connector.

Key Features
capabilities and attractive economics for service providers to deliver variants for a
• 3GPP compliant wide variety of deployments with the extremely low cost per unit coverage ratio. It
• SON-based supports many worldwide 3GPP frequency bands. The innovative design results in
interference the following benefits:
mitigation
• Self-configuring, self- • Larger coverage area with one base station
optimizing, and self- • A true wireless broadband level of service enablement for the subscribers
managing via HetNet with more data throughput
Gateway • Improved uplink performance by installing a unit close to the antenna to:
reduce cable loss, maximize power efficiency, and minimize interference
Key Benefits • Compact size and light weight results in CAPEX savings by outdoor
• Cost-effective, installation near antenna and OPEX savings with easy cell planning and
resilient coverage optimization by the Parallel Wireless HetNet Gateway (HNG).
outdoors
CWS-3050-x is auto-configured and managed by the HNG. This allow the CWS to
• Lower overall TCO
be deployed and maintained without any need for specialized staff or training. The
• Flexibility in
HNG makes the CWS nodes self-configurable, self-optimizing via real-time SON
deployment: fewer
sites; sites that can on HNG, and also provides resilience and self-healing with dynamic re-routing,
support multiple and enables backhaul meshing between the nodes using licensed or unlicensed
sectors spectrum. SON on the HNG actively manages and monitors CWS’. This ensures
that they are not disruptive to the rest of the Macro network, that proper power
control is maintained between systems and guarantees other users in the same
geographical area are not adversely affected. This improves the overall network performance towards a
higher customer QoE (Quality of Experience).
Wi-Fi can be supported via any Wi-Fi AP connected via PoE connector.
The CWS hardware connectors allow for different backhaul input (fixed, Ethernet, satellite, wireless).
CWS backhaul capabilities can be enhanced with wireless mesh by simply connecting a wireless mesh
backhaul module (BHM) via a standard RJ45/Ethernet interface/Ethernet cable. Multiple CWS’ can daisy
chain to each other to form a mesh cluster which eliminates the need/cost for other types of backhaul.
BHM-201 has two radios (to support multiple mesh networks, or a mesh network plus an LTE-backhaul
connection) and external N-type connectors to allow mobile operators to choose their preferred antennas.

• Covers the majority of cellular 3G and 4G bands ensuring that there is a solution available for
any outdoor deployment situation
