glass and/or brittle plastic get(s) broken in the plant.

Clean-up procedure:

A. When broken glass/brittle plastic is/are found anywhere in the plant:


1. Put on HOLD all activities and all open, uncovered products, packaging
materials, etc. in the immediate area and conduct a thorough inspection of these.
2. Immediately inform the Production Supervisor or the Quality Assurance Manager.
3. Remove large pieces of glass/brittle plastic by hand (must wear gloves) and
place in the garbage bin.
4. Sweep up the rest of the glass/brittle plastic shards in the area.
5. Wash all affected areas thoroughly with water or with a damp wipe-all.
6. Area must be checked by Production Manager Quality Assurance before
resuming work in the area.

B. In case of glass breakage at any point during production, the following procedure must be
followed:
1. Stop the process (anybody can do this) and put on HOLD all activities and all open,
uncovered products, packaging materials, etc in the immediate area and conduct a
thorough inspection of these.
2. Immediately inform the Production Supervisor or the Quality Assurance Manager.
3. Remove large pieces of glass/brittle plastic by hand (must wear gloves) and place in the
garbage bin.
4. Sweep up the rest of the glass/brittle plastic shards in the area.
5. Wash all affected areas thoroughly with water or with a damp wipe-all.
6. Area must be checked by Production Manager Quality Assurance before resuming work
in the area.
