Research Paper

Globalization has connected people across borders through advances in technology and transportation. This study examines how social globalization impacts individuals by exploring their experiences with socializing online and interacting with people in other countries. The researcher conducted qualitative interviews with 10 respondents from different backgrounds to understand the positive and negative effects of increased social connections globally. Respondents were asked open-ended questions about how social media and interacting with overseas contacts has changed their social lives and perspectives. The goal was to gain real-world insights into how social globalization influences people's experiences and views.

The Impact of Social Globalization on

People
ABSTRACT
TABLE OF CONTENTS
INTRODUCTION
This research will be conducted to determine the impact of social globalization on
people. Iam interested in how social globalization affects people, how people change because
of this economic phenomena and this will be able to know the positive and negative effects of
social globalization on people and also in our society.
Globalization is the process of international integration arising from the interchange of
world views, products, ideas and other aspects of culture. Advances in transportation, such as
the steam locomotive, steamship, jet engine, container ships, and in telecommunications
infrastructure, including the rise of the telegraph and its modern offspring, the Internet, and
mobile phones, have been major factors in globalization, generating further interdependence of
economic and cultural activities. Though scholars place the origins of globalization in modern
times, others trace its history long before the European Age of Discovery and voyages to the
New World. Some even trace the origins to the third millennium BCE. Large-scale globalization
began in the 19th century. In the late 19th century and early 20th century, the connectivity of
the world's economies and cultures grew very quickly, Dolce(2016).
Globalization is the free movement of goods, services and people across the world in a
seamless and integrated manner. Globalization can be thought of to be the result of the
opening up of the global economy and the concomitant increase in trade between nations. In
other words, when countries that were hitherto closed to trade and foreign investment open
up their economies and go global, the result is an increasing interconnectedness and
integration of the economies of the world. Further, globalization also means that countries
liberalize their visa rules and procedures so as to permit the free flow of people from country to
country. Moreover, globalization results in freeing up the unproductive sectors to investment
and the productive sectors to export related activities resulting in a win-win situation for the
economies of the world. Globalization in the simplest terms means to extend the world in
which you interact with. For products, according to Strandin (2017) the evolution developed
from hunting and farming your own food, to buying it in town, to convenience stores, to having
it shipped right to your house, regardless of where the product was originally made.
Social Globalization refers to the interpersonal contact that is made in your everyday
life. It has followed the same pattern growing from people that you see on a daily basis, to
people you could correspond with through mail to email to social networks. We continue to be
more closely in touch with people all around in real time even translating through language
barriers, Strandin (2017). And the most example for this is social media, such as facebook,
twitter, instagram etc. this kind of social media people connecting each other even if

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

The aim of this research was to identify and evaluate the effects of social
globalization on people in terms of socializing in different kind people here in our
country and abroad.
METHODOLOGY
In this chapter, I discuss the research design, area of study, population,
sample of the population, sampling technique, instrument for data collection,
validation of the questionnaire, administration of the instrument and method of
data analysis.
RESEARCH DESIGN
Qualitative method will be conducted in this research. I used a survey
method to this research to be able to know the causes and effects of social
globalization by giving questionnaires which includes questions that relates to my
topic in order to gather large size of information. I also conducted an interview to
10 respondents with different responsibilities and obligations in our society, 4
college students in different universities, 3 working professionals and 3 people
who have been worked in abroad this is to reflect emotions and experiences and
explore issues with a greater focus.
Qualitative method is deemed the most suitable for this research because
narrates more realistically about the actual situation in our society and it also
touches on the actual constraints for this research. Qualitative data are analyzed-
the data elaborate on personal’s experiences, opinions, and meanings such as
they are not supposed to match to the pre-existing philosophies (Koch, Niesz, &
McCarthy, 2014), Non-numerical data utilized in this kind of research allow
researchers to discover the quality and nature of people’s actions, practice and
comprehension (Hamza, 2014). Individual understanding of happenings is very
important and this can be obtained through participant observation and in-depth
interviews (Langkos, 2014).

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

For data gathering, questionnaires and interview will be used, as it serves
as a key of qualitative data gathering method commonly applied in performing
field studies (Qu & Dumay, 2011). In-depth interview is also known as semi-
structured interview, and it can present reliable and comparable qualitative data
(Newton, 2010). According to Koch, Niesz, & McCarthy (2014), an inductive data
analysis is an important feature of qualitative research. Collecting and analyzing
data will be completed in continuous iteration, permitting a better data gathering
(Arendt, eal., 2012; Koch, Niesz, & McCarthy, 2014). Interview's reactions,
personal experiences and life stories must be recorded in further detail because it
is essential in the data analysis process (Carter & Little, 2007).

Some sample questions that were included in the semi- structured questionnaire
were the following:
