to be Developed: Community Action – refers to collective efforts done by people directed toward addressing
social problems.
Community Engagement – refers to the process of developing partnership and sustaining
relationships with and through groups of people affiliated by geographic proximity or
common interests for the purpose of working for the common good and of addressing issues
that affect their well.
I. Objectives: At the end of the session the learner will be able to:
Knowledge Acknowledge interrelationship of self and community in undertaking community action.
Skills Analyze factors and make use of theories in describing
Attitudes Learn social responsibility and develop their penchant for civic engagement.
Values Show an appreciation of the value of citizenship education on community
engagement and nation-building.

III. Procedure (indicate the steps you will undertake to teach the lesson and indicate the no. of
minutes each step will consume)
A. Preparation: Greeting, prayer, checking of attendance, short review
(5minutes)
B. Motivation: Group the class into five, each group make a mock-up of house made of paper
(5minutes) (4minutes). Then evaluate the output and their group performance of the task
given.
C. Presentation: What we call it the action refers to collective efforts done by people directed
toward addressing social problems? It is called community action that is our topic
for today. Explain the relation of motivation to the subject matter.
D. Lesson Proper: 1. Give the definition of community action.
(25minutes) 2. In refers to the process of developing partnerships and sustaining relationships with and
through groups of people affiliated by geographic proximity or common interests for the
purpose of working for the common good and of addressing issues that affect their well-
being
3. Teaching methodology that employs community service and reflection on service to teach
community engagement, develop greater community and social responsibility, and
strengthen communities.
4. In refers to the voluntary services done by students, faculty, school employees, or alumni
in response to the social, economic, and political needs of communities.
5. The collaborative process between the faculty and/or student researchers and
the partner community in conducting research.
6. Appropriate levels of community engagement depending on the issue that is being
addressed in the community, the objectives of engagement, and the decision of who among
the community stakeholders should be involved.
7. Refers to the firm and preserving determination to commit oneself to the
common good by mutual supporting and sustaining movements for social change
and social justice.
8. The most basic sense, refers to full membership in a community in which ones
lives, works, or was born.
9. The changes occur to combine different theories that explain a certain
phenomenon.
E. Application: Again group the class by male versus female, instruction write on ½ sheet of paper.
(5minutes) Write a plan to form community engagement in school setting (for 2minutes). Each
group choose representative to discuss what, how, and why they choose the output
(in front of the class).
