Project Title: Low-cost water
filtration for rural area
Project by: Priya
Class - 8th
GUPS Vanthapla (Agastyamuni, Rudraprayag)

Problem statement
Rural households are usually dependent upon
the natural resources of water without any
filtration. Which make those people prone to
water-borne diseases.

Objective and scope


Step 1: We have suggested a low cost and
easy to make filter only using clean gravel,
fine sand, and charcoal to clean the water.
Step 2: Add chlorine to the filtered water to
make it germ-free.

Equipment and materials used


1- Stand
2- Gravel, sand and charcoal
3- Wood charcoal
4- Pots

Conclusion
A low-cost water filter is readily available for rural areas for filtration of muddy water into safe
water.
