What To Do?
What To Do?
First thing that comes in my mind when I hear the word “Philosophy” was it’s about our
knowledge or lessons in life, things that will guide us when we make a decision. When a person
believed in his/her own philosophy in life he/she will based in that belief. It also shows how we
treat other people, how we stand and face our everyday challenge in life. Philosophy can help us
realize things we seem not to understand. Philosophy can ultimately change the way a person
lives and unlock some deep questions about the meaning of their life. Questions you ask yourself
suchlike why are we existing in the world? Why are we doing the things we are doing? Or where
my life is headed to? I guess understanding philosophy is the key in motivating us individuals to
explore life’s complication.
My professor asked me “What is your philosophy in life?”. I didn’t answer it right away but
when I get the chance and thought of something I guess my philosophy in life is “You have to
assemble your life yourself --- action by action.” – Marcus Aurelius. We people are going
through a lot even teenagers. We suffer stress, anxiety, frustration and depression but the only
thing that can help us get through with it is ourselves. Knowledge is never gained by
exaggeration. Philosophy is the pursuit of wisdom, reflection, commitment and our ambitions.
We are making our own future based on our performances, based on our knowledge. In example
if a person tries to bring us down we can’t just let them, we can’t just give up without doing what
we have to do. Life is beautiful and every moment is a celebration of our existence in the world,
but we should always be ready to face inevitable adversity and challenges. A person who has not
encountered difficulties in life can never achieve success. Hindrances test the perseverance,
patience and true character of a human being. Adversity and hardship make a person strong and
ready to face the challenges of life with equanimity. There is no doubt that there can be no pain
without pain.
To the title “What to do?” I relate it with the 3 world views which is Greece “Where am I?”,
China “What am I?”, and India “Who am I?” so for a unique one I thought of “What to do?”
because that’s the question always comes up in my mind when I’m drowning of questions. Our
existence in this world is beautiful but we have to admit the fact that it’s not always easy, we
have worries about the things that might happen, and the challenge lies in facing them with
courage. It makes the pain bearable, during tough times we only have hope. We have to cherish
every moment, even our dark moments, our sadness. In this topic I’ve come to my realizations
that no matter how hard the situation is, I need to try everything that I can and not give up easily
until I became satisfied with what I ought to do. I need to be positive. If I lose hope during
difficult times, I wouldn’t achieve success and would be replaced by others. So for me it’s better
an “oops” than a “What if?” at least I tried. I know everything has it’s reason and it’s worth it.
