Model types
The only difference between the 2 models is the location of the print head. The
Sauven 6000 Plus Standard has the print head incorporated in the control unit and
the Codajet 6000 plus Remote has a remote print head connected to the control unit
with a flexible conduit.
The Sauven 6000 plus operates with 2 sets of inks: oil based and Solvent based
Oil based inks are used for absorbent surfaces such as cardboard and solvent
based inks are used for non-absorbent surfaces such as plastic.
In theory both models can be used with both sets of inks but in practice we see the
following pattern:
Sauven 6000 Plus Standard is used with Oil based inks for box coding.
Sauven 6000 Plus Remote is used with Solvent based inks for product coding.
In this market we use for 95% a Sauven 6000 plus Standard model with oil
based ink. Sometimes a Codajet 6000 Remote model with oil based ink is used, for
example to print on the top of a box or to when the print head has to be installed in a
confined space.
PRODUCT CODING
In this market we always use the Sauven 6000 Plus Remote with solvent based
ink..
Box coding: Sauven 6000 Plus Standard with oil based ink
In this market we mostly sell on quality and not on price. The customer wants a
nice hi-resolution print quality that fits with his product image rather than a DOD
quality.
From our experience we find that most of ours are oil based users are big
companies where image is important: some example: British Sugar, Mars (Master
Foods), Coca Cola, Cadbury, Kraft Jacobs Suchard, Gerber Foods, Unilever,
The market of box coding uses for 95% a Codajet 6000 Standard model and
occasionally also a Codajet 6000 Remote model.

In this market we mostly sell on quality and not on price. The customer wants a
nice hi-resolution print quality that fits with his product image rather than a DOD
quality. NOTE that higher resolution allows smaller printing with equal readability.
The ink deposits are much smaller than with DOD machines, resulting in less ink
consumption.
DOD QUALITY
8 LINES OF PRINT
Codajet 6000 offers up to 8 lines of 2mm text with the same equipment and for the
same low price.
SIMPLE TECHNOLOGY
Compared to the CIJ, the Codajet 6000 technology is extremely simple. Most
problems can be resolved fast over the phone or on the spot. No specialized and
expensive engineers are needed for repairs.
NO MEK ink
With the Codajet 6000 we use an ink that is does not smell and is not harmful like
the MEK inks used in the CIJ printer.
POWER-CUT-SAFE
In case the power supply is suddenly cut off, the Codajet 6000 will resume printing
when the power returns. The Codajet has no shut-down procedure and can be
switched off simply by pressing the switch on/off button or by disconnecting the
power.
In case the power supply fails while a CIJ printer is switched on, the ink will dry
instantly inside the print head and the unit will be out of service for several hours
until the head and the tubing is cleaned thoroughly.
NO FILTER
Codajet Sauven 6000 does not use air filters and needs only annual preventive
replacement of the ink filter (£2). The CIJ needs regular replacement of air and ink
filters.
HI RESOLUTION
The Codajet Sauven has a higher print resolution than the CIJ, resulting in better
print quality and allowing smaller printing.
