Procedure for taking PLC Simatic Wincc Running Backup


and Installing
Taking Running Backup:-
 Firstly we have to take the Running Backup from Wincc Running System. In
order take this Backup, We have to find the Path of installed Wincc. First
click on Simatic WinCC and locate the path in winCC Explorer.

 In order to take backup first Deactivate the Running WinCC by pressing on


STOP button.

 Use the Following in Run Command reset_wincc.vbs

 Follow the path in your computer and Copy that folder in your device.

 Now we have the Running Backup in Our Device. Now we have to install
this Running Backup in New System.

Installing Running Backup:-


 The system have Following requirements to install this Running Backup
 Windows XP Service Pack 2 or 3
 SQL Server
 Simatic WinCC Software
 Simatic S7 Program

 Firstly install the Windows XP and LAN Driver, and Enable Message
Queuing.

 Insert the Sql Server CD and Follow the Steps and Install the Sql Server
 Insert the WinCC Software CD and Setup the WinCC, after that system
Reboots and Setup WinCC again. Choose the Typical Installation Setup, and
enter Name and company name and any serial number. If it is asking for
Serial number in later installation, just skip that step.

 Now Insert the S7 program CD and Follow the steps on Screen and Install it.

 After that paste the Running Backup In your System and go to that folder
and click on Simatic Wincc Icon.

 After Opening that, then start server locally.

 Change the computer name in WinCC to your PC Name.

 After the Name change it asks for closing that session and opens it again.
 Then go to Tag Management and right Click-on Simatic S7 Protocol Suite
and go to TCP/IP and Right Click on it and go to system Parameter.

 Change the Logical Device name to Auto as Follows.

 Then it asks for restart the session and open Simatic Wincc again. Run The
WinCC. Then it Activates, and for Deactivating exit WinCC by Following
these steps.

 If we want to install another Back up in the same system ,In Run Command
Type the Following.

 Follow the same steps again in order to install the Running Back up
