Wearable Exo

This project involves 4 students developing an advanced exoskeleton to improve rehabilitation by measuring limb forces and angles during movement, recognizing gait changes and pain, and using actuators to stimulate muscles and adjust ligament loads, providing variable resistance to increase mobility and load-carrying capacity for injured limbs and joints.

WEARABLE REHAB

4 STUDENTS
OBJECTIVE
This project aims to improve the rehabilitation process by providing
an advanced exoskeleton as a technological assistance and enabler
to increase mobility and load-carrying capacity of injured limbs and
joints.

The project may involve:

… measurements (sensing) of specific limb forces (muscles,
ligaments, etc) and angles;
… gait changes recognition and pain recognition through self-
learning systems
… development of advanced actuators to artificially stimulate
muscles to adjust the load on the ligaments, and provide “smart”
and variable force-resistance curves
