E306 Analysis and Conclusion
One of the sources that could occur in this experiment is the cables and where to
insert them. This is one of the common problem in circuits to deal with. Imagine having many
cables and then insert them in their own space and some of it are not on its own designation, then
the reading will fail. Another one is the reading of ammeter. Specially, we are using analog.
In this experiment, we used the concept in a series pattern where the current all
throughout is consistent and on the other hand, the parallel pattern’s concept was used that has the
same value of voltages.
Based on the concept used, we easily determined how to read the instruments that
were used in this experiment. Knowing the fact that we are using analog device, we should be
precise on the reading and we actually did. Getting the voltage reading on the instruments, is also
getting the voltage reading when it is computed. What I am trying to say is that, when you
compare the values of computed and experimental, they are almost likely close to each other.
CONCLUSION:
What was done in the experiment is we setup three batteries and three resistors
and gather the total current using the ammeter and compare it to the one we computed for.
The concept used waswhen using a series pattern, the current all throughout is
consistent and we used it to know if we are still doing it right, if the current are not similar then
there is something wrong. On the second part, the parallel pattern was layout or used. The
concept used is it is a parallel circuit and a correct one is if it has the same value of voltages. We
didn’t get it right on the papers because there was a misread on the experiment.
After the experiment, I learned that there is a polarity when using ammeter. It
will go or spike further if you got it wrong. I also learned that in a parallel circuit can go to only
one resistor unlike the series circuit where it has to go through all resistors. In a nutshell with a
series circuit, as the resistance gets higher, the current decreases and if you move one of the
resistors everything stops for the parallel circuit. It is the exact opposite of a series.
In the future as an engineer, knowing this is an important thing. Having this
knowledge helps me to know what circuit is needed to run a collective of machines smoothly and
if using a series circuit, it knows how many resistance it can handle or how many resistance it
should have.
