Syllabus:-
Paper- I
Basic concept of cultivation of Medicinal Plant.
1) Scope of cultivation of Ayurvedic Medicinal plant in rural and urban part and its
importance human health program and medical sciences and its marketing in India and
through-out the world.
2) Basic Principles of Ayurveda & Dravyaguna.
3) Medicinal Value of Ayurvedic Medicinal Plant.
4) History of Medicinal Plants Cultivation.
5) Basic Plant Science – Classification and nomenclature of medicinal plants, morphology,
physiology genetic plant disease and control.
6) Personnel – Effective communication and management writing skill, oral communication
and presentation skill.
Paper – II
Basic skill in Cultivation.
1) Machinery & Equipment:-
Introduction to Implant for soil preparation type, porosity moisture holding, PH of soil
plant suitable for acidic and alkaline soil, weeding, budding, cutting and harvesting,
pruning watering and fertilizer application.
2) Plant Propagation:-
Introduction to sexual propagation seed formation, production seed dormancy, quality
analysis treatment, nursery, activities, vegetative propagation (a sexual production)
cutting, layering, grafting, budding hybridization, micro propagation.
3) Mineral nutrition & inorganic fertilizer & manure support:-
Introduction to soil classification, properties and fertilizer. Fertilizer, type, properties
handling and storage, role of manure in soil fertility, method of application and bio-
fertilizer, irrigation management-role of water, water requirement, water conservation,
method to use water economically water resources type of irrigation method.
4) Scientific approach of commercial cultivation of medicinal plants and Agro-Forestry
system.
5) Methodology for Ayurvedic herbs harvesting and storage.
6) Endangered medicinal plant cultivation scheme.
7) Technique in Cultivation:-
Grafting and budding, objective and principle limit.
8) Grafting Stem Grafting:-
Introduction to Detached soion splice whip tongue, side vaneer, cleft bar attached soion
top grafting and frame work root grafting syone grafting cutting graft budding T budding
inverted T Patch., flute, ring angular.
9) Gardening Operation:-
Introduction to Digging seed bed soil selection and preparation of soil, Cultivitation of
medicinal plants, sterilization, sowing, top dressing weeding heeing, planting procedure.
Paper – III
- Marketing skill of medicinal plants.
- Medicinal plants and economics.
- Medicinal plant and economy of Kokan region, costing of medicinal plants and product,
packing type, material costing, pharmaceutical industries of Ayurved, packing processing
transportation.
Marketing:-
Marketing channel for medicinal plants, grading, handling during marketing, quality and
maintenance, marketing research.
Field visit:-
1) Visit to different nurseries.
2) Visit soil testing/ seed testing laboratories.
3) Visit to manure production unit.
4) Visit to garden cultivated of medicinal plants.
Practical:-
1) Study of classification and nomenclature of medicinal plants.
2) Study of morphology of vegetative parts of plants.
3) Study of reproductive plants parts.
4) Study of ascent sap in plants.
5) Study of the effect of light in photosynthesis.
6) Study of the role of water in plants life.
7) Study of apical dominance in plants.
8) Study of the effect of growth regulator in plants.
9) Study of plant disease on the basis of morphological systems.
10) Propagation of plant by cutting.
11) Propagation of plant by layering.
12) Propagation of plant by grafting.
13) Propagation if plant by budding.
14) Testing of seed viability of different seed.
15) Determination of seed germination % of different seed.
16) Determination of seed purity of different seed.
17) Propagation of plant by seed.
18) To study the mechanical analysis of soil.
19) Determination of soil Ph and macro-element using soil testing kit.
Examination:-
Examination will be conducted at the end of the course.
Written Examination:-
It includes three papers:
Paper I - 100 Marks
Paper II - 100 Marks
Paper III - 50 Marks
Practical Examination:-
1) Spotting - 25 Marks (Min.50 Plants)
2) Herbarium - 25 Marks
3) Assignment - 50 Marks
