WINDOWS XP INSTALLATION
On most systems, the Thermo Scientific Niton NDT CD will auto-load. If it does not
auto-load, launch Windows Explorer, go to My Computer and click on the file that says
“Thermo Fisher Scientific”.

Click “Next”,

Click “Next”,

Review the agreement, and if you accept the terms, click “I accept the agreement” and
then click “Next”.

The program will automatically select a location to install NDT and if this selection is
acceptable, click “Next”,

Click “Install”,

If you want to register your analyzer with Thermo Fisher Scientific, click Register and
the following screen will pop up. Complete these screens and then click “Submit”.

If you do not want to register your analyzer at this time, click “Ignore”,

To complete the process, click “Finish”,

Once you plug the USB cable from the analyzer into your PC, you will see the following
message:

Check the box that says “Yes, this time only” and then click “Next”,

Click the box that says “Install the software automatically (Recommended)” and then
click “Next”,

Then click “Finish”.

To start NDT, click on the Start button, go to Programs, Thermo Niton, and then NDT.

To start NDTr, click on the Start button, Programs Thermo Niton, and then NDTr.
Under Settings, click on Thermo Scientific and then OK. The analyzer should pop up on
your screen, if not, click “Connect” on the toolbar.

For more information on using the complete NDT tools, refer to the resource guide that
loaded with this install.

WINDOWS 7 INSTALLATION

If the Thermo Scientific Niton NDT CD does not auto-load, launch Windows Explorer,
go to My Computer and click on the file that says “Thermo Fisher Scientific”.

Then click on the “Setup.exe” file icon. Please follow the above instructions for
Windows XP.

If the USB Driver does not Install

Make sure analyzer is connected.

Click on “Control Panel”, then “Hardware and Sound”, then “Device Manager” (On
some systems, you may be able to go directly to the Device Manager from the Control
Panel).

Under “Other Devices”, right click on “Unknown Device”.

Click “Update Driver Software” and the Browse My Computer for “Program Files”,

Click on “Thermo Niton” and then click “Install this driver software anyway”. Then
click “Close”.

To start NDT, click on the Start button, Programs, Thermo Niton, and then NDT.

To start NDTr, click on the Start button, Programs Thermo Niton, and then NDTr.
Under Settings, click on Thermo Scientific and then OK. The analyzer should pop up on
your screen, if not, click Connect on the toolbar.
