2. Crown wheel
2. Push and pull the crown wheel back and forth.
Read off the outer positions on the dial indicator, that is, the gear flank clearance (backlash). Note
the value.
Measure and note the gear flank clearance (backlash) in two more places.
Calculate the average value.
For correct gear flank clearance (backlash), see
If the clearance is not within specifications, it must be adjusted according to the description
below.
· If the clearance is too big, the crown wheel shall be moved in towards the pinion
· If the clearance is too small, the crown wheel shall be moved outwards from the pinion
3. Loosen the adjuster ring located on the side towards which the crown wheel is to be adjusted.
Tighten in the adjuster ring on the opposite side just as much. Use E-tool E-2513, Wrench.

4. Check the gear flank clearance (backlash) again, and repeat any adjusting until correct values
have been obtained.
For correct gear flank clearance (backlash), see
CATATAN!
Note the gear flank clearance (backlash) for any later adjustment of bearing clearance for the
pinion shaft.
