OPENING CEREMONY
R - A warm good morning to all dignitaries, dear parents and all other
stakeholders present here.
C - We welcome you all to the 20th Annual Sports Meet.
R - My name is Rini Sahu.
C – Myself Chandradeep Kumar.
R – Mahoday Shri Saheb Ji Khuchroo, Chief, Operations ka agman
ho chuka hai.
[SLOW MARCH PAST]
C - He has been brought in by slow march past. Accompanying him...
we’ve our respected principal Sr. Kavita Alencherry, School
manager Sr. Lillis, P.T. teacher Mr.C.S.Singh and other senior
teachers.............................................................................................
R – Ve humare beech manchaseen ho chuke hai.
C – Today, we are here to witness the most awaited event of the year,
“20th ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 2017-18”. This is an occasion
that will fill us all with oodles of power, self confidence and of
course a winning spirit.
R – Prevention is better than cure. Especially for a major event like a
Sports Meet, we must know how to act in an emergency.
C – So, we have Mr. Utpal Sinha Mahapatra to make the safety
announcement.
[SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT]
C - Thank you Sir for your tips on safety precautions. Without further
delay let’s welcome our Chief Guest in the most traditional way.
R –Humare vidhyalay ke nanhe nanhe bachche humare chief guest ko
phulo ka guldasta bhaint krte huye.
C - The children, our little bundles of joy, said it with flowers.
R - Now we invite Mrs. Robab Fatma to welcome him formally through the
welcome address.

C - Next our School Choir will say it, in a musical way.

R- Now we request our beloved principal to take the Chief Guest
down to the ground to hand over the flags to the House Captains.
C - The school president Deepti Jha is receiving the school’s flag.
R - Yamuna House ke captaan Saif Hussain, tatha captaan Shweta
Bharadwaj jhande ko grahan krte huye.
C - Krishna House ke captaan Aditiya Kumar, tatha captaan Kashish
Fatma jhande ko grahan krte huye.
R - Kaveri House ke captaan Shubham Kumar, tatha captaan
Manisha Kumari jhande ko grahan krte huye.
C - Ganga House ke captaan Danish Hussain, tatha captaan Aanchal
Prasad jhande ko grahan krte huye...............
R - Sabhi captaan apne apne troops ki taraf prasthan krte

[BRINGING OF SCHOOL’S FLAG]
C - Humare vidyalay ka jhanda aadar aur samman ke sath humare
beech le kr aate huye hum sab dekh sakte hai..................
R – The principal has received the flag and is handing it over to the Mr.
C.S.Singh, the P.T. teacher.
R – May we now take the privilege to invite the honourable chief guest to
hoist the school flag?
[SCHOOL ANTHEM]
C – The Troops Captain “Ankur Kshitiz” is taking permission from our
chief guest to begin the march past.
[MARCH PAST]
R – Opening March past ka shubhaarambh ho chuka hai.
C – The opening march past has begun with the Troops Captain “Ankur
Kshitiz” of 12th C, leading them all... with “Deepti Jha”, School
President and “Rishi Gyanesh”, Secretary to Student’s Welfare Unit
marching close behind.
R – Saif Hussain of 11th A, the boys captain of Yamuna House is leading the
troop and passing by saluting the flag.
C – Green is the colour of nature and so is our Yamuna House. It
symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness and hope.
R – Coming behind him is Shweta Bharadwaj of 11th C, leading the girls
troop.
C – It is a joy to watch them marching in unison. What pride, what
dignity..!!
R – Aditya Kumar Gupta of 11th A, the boys captain of Krishna House is
leading the troop and walking by saluting the flag.
C – Red is the colour of fire and blood. Krishna House all in red, confident
and determined shows their desire to live life to the fullest, boldly.
R – Coming behind him is Kashish Fatma of 11th A, the girl’s troop
Captain.
C – Drumming up the beats here comes our School Band Captained by
Harsh Kr. Jha, Ritika Pandey and Anima Kusum all from 9th A.
C - Left, right, left ..... the school band marching with rhythmic beats fill
our heart with the essence of discipline.
R – You can see a sea of blue approaching the stage, lead by boys captain
Shubham Kumar of 11th C.
C – Blue is the colour of sky and sea. It symbolizes trust, confidence,
wisdom and intelligence.
R – Coming next is Manisha Kumari of 11th C, the girls captain of Kaveri
House leading the troop and passing by saluting the flag.
C –Their measured steps taken with confidence and courage shows today’s
youth is all ready for action with conviction.
R - Danish Hussain of XI 'A', the boys captain of Ganga house is leading
the troops and about to salute the School flag.
C - Yellow is the colour of sunshine and so is our Ganga house. It's
associated with joy, happiness, enthusiasm and optimism.
C - Walking close behind is Aanchal Prasad of XI 'C', leading the girls
troop.
R - We can watch the School Band Performance...........
C - Marching with rhythmic steps they’re forming the shape of
HCS.......................
R - Next they make the shape of a wheel. A wheel can move only if all the
spokes in it are in place and functioning too.
C - In the same way the band members are moving with measured steps
with the same speed and in the same direction.
R - Now u can see them performing a Band Drill Dance.
C - After the Demonstration of skills by the School Band....we now begin
with the most important ceremony of the Opening Day.....The TORCH
CEREMONY.
R - We request Our Respected School Manager Sr. Lillis to LIGHT THE
TORCH. This torch lighting commemorates an ancient Greek tradition
which is followed till date.
[THE TORCH CEREMONY]
C - Sr. has lighted the torch being carried by the previous year’s Sr. Girls
Champion Shalini Puri.
R - We’re witnessing the TORCH RELAY.... Shalini is handing over the
torch to Ajeet Mahto, Sr. Boy’s Champion of the 19th Annual Sports
Meet.....The torch goes into the hands of B.V.Muskan, Jr. Girls
Champion and then to Abhishek Kr, Jr. Boy’s Champion.
C - Together .... our champions are bringing the torch which is a symbol of
harmony and goodwill which represent the ideals of Olympic Games.
R - They are requesting our Chief Guest to light the Annual Sports Day
flame in a cauldron.
C - The TORCH CEREMONY has some specific traits & significance.
Its historic significance is..... it sheds light in the surrounding darkness
offering hope.
R - And Educationally..... it gives us the message of fair play and instil in
us high regard to co-operation & togetherness.
C - It will keep burning throughout this 20th ANNUAL SPORTS MEET.
C - Now is the time for Oath Taking...
R - The senior girls champion of '19th Annual Sports Day', Shalini Puri of
XII 'A' will lead the oath now.
[OATH TAKING]
R - Our Chief Guest will release the balloons now.
C - Like the colourful balloons going up in the sky, let us release all
pressures and enjoy the two days, free from all stress. Two days of
friendly competitions in this hunt for sporting skills.
R- The balloons flying higher and higher in the sky, with the cool breeze
taking them up and floating them, inspires us to be free and to aim
high.

R -Yeah sure.... Hum honge kamyab....each house desires in this healthy
fight for excellence. But before that.... let’s watch a Drill Performance
by the Junior most Wing of Holy Cross followed by a Karate
Performance.

C- A drill teaches us the importance of discipline in our lives. It shows how
imperfection and perfection can go hand-in-hand.
R- And what can be more beautiful, than to watch small kids discovering
their disciplined sides and inspiring us to practice it in our lives too.

C - Is prastuti ke madhyam se hum pradarshit karna chahte he ki humare
desh me vibhinn jati-dharm ke log h parantu hum sabhi ekta ke sutra

chinh is prakar he..... Swastik, Cross, Omkar aur Allah.

C - Yog ke vibhinn asano ke madhyam se kaksha tritiya ke ye chhatra aur
chhatrayen yeh batana chahte h ki yog na sirf humari sharirik shakti ka
vikas krta h balki yeh humari boudhdhik , aatmik awam aadhyatmik
shaktiyon ka bhi vikas krta h.
R - Aajkal is bhoudhiktawadi vyast jiwan mai mann ki shanti prapt krne ke
liye yog ek uttam sadhan h.
C - Drum ke talo ke sath chhatro ke dwara yog pradarsan ka manobhavan
darshaya gya h.

R - Punah saree ke sath chhatro ka khel tatha naye–naye sunder aakar ki
prastutikaran jisme sabhi chhatra apne koshal ka pradarshan kar rhe h.
C - Yis prastuti mai kaksha chaturth ke bacche vibhinn aakritiyon ko aapke
samne prastut kr rhe h.
R - Isme nachte huye morr , ithlati huyi titliyan awam vibhinn prakar ke phulo
ko darshaya gya h.
C - Sabhi chhatra kadam se kadam mila kr apni ekta awam anushasan ko
pradarshit kr rhe h.

R - Susajjit bamboos ke dwara naye tatha hridyamanoranjak khel ki
prastutikaran.
C - Rang birange poshako se susajjit ye chhatra chhatrayen hume anekta mai
ekta ka shandesh de rhe h. Kis prakar vibhinntaon ke bawajud hum ek
sutra mai bandhe huye h.
R - Hum shabhi mai sneh awam bhaichara h. Ye bacche hume prem awam
shanti ka shandesh de rhe h.
C - Surya ki aakriti bnate huye yeh shanti ka prachar awam charo dishaon ko
prakashmaan kr rhi h.

R - Is prakar vibhinn drill ko ek sutra mai pirote huye ye bacche yah darsha
rhe h ki vibhinn pranton , dharmon, jatiyon awam boliyon ke hote huye
bhi hum desh ki ekta awam aakhandata ko sanjo kar rakhe huye h.
BOTH - Hume bhartiya hone par garvh h.
[KARATE PEFORMANCE]
C - Manushya ko apne rakhsha ke liye shakti aur tarike ki aawashyakta hoti h
jisse ve khud ko surakshit rakh shakein.
R - Toh apke samne he karate ka pradarshan jisme chhatra awam chhatrayen
milkar apne shakti ke prayog ka sahi tarika prastut kar rhe h, jo atyant
romanchik awam utsahwardhak h.
C - The School’s Martial Arts Trainees are mesmerising us with their skills
in Karate.
R – Sach me, in nanhe nanhe bachcho ne apne performance se hum sbka
dil jeet liya.
C- Ab hum humare aadarniy Chief Guest ko aamantrit karna chahenge, ki
ve aaye, aur apne chand panktiyo ke saath sabhi bacho ka protsahan
bardhaye.
