LANTERN2 Making1

Students will make lanterns of 3-4 feet in size using recycled materials like plastic bottles, cups, and tin cans. The design should resemble a star shape with a ring outside and two tail pieces. Lanterns will be judged based on creativity, durability to withstand weather, reflection of theme and season, and use of indigenous/recycled materials. The highest scoring lanterns will be original, strong structures that are representative works of art.

LANTERN/PAROL MAKING

Mechanics :
- All students participate in the class.
- Students should use their own colored papers, glues, scissors, pencils etc. (materials).
- Made from used plastics bottles, cups, tin cans (for primary materials )paper, candy/biscuit
wrappers, plastics bags(for secondary materials)which are bought from our canteen.
- Design that is similar to STAR with a ring outside. The size of which is 24 in diameter with two
(2) tail .
- Using paint is not allowed.
- The size of the lantern should not be less than 3 feet and not more than 4 feet.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
Output must reflect a work of art and should exhibit originality.
The structure must be strong to withstand weather condition
The lantern should be reflective of the theme and of the season.
Indigenous materials and recycled materials must be used for the Construction of the lanterns.
The size of the lantern should not be less than 3 feet and not more than 4 feet.
