Prof.Sweety Rupani for her valuable support and encouraging mentality throughout the project. We are
highly obliged to her for providing us this opportunity to carry out her ideas and work during our project
period and helping us to gain the successful completion of our Project.

Our special thanks is going to Head of the Department of Computer Engineering of our college,
Prof. Megha Trivedi and to all of the faculties for allowing us to come here and encouraging us constantly
to work hard in this project.

We are highly grateful to the Honorable Principal of VCET, Dr. H. V. Vankudre for giving us this
golden opportunity to be a part of this organization for this period.

ABSTRACT:

In Engineering colleges there is a need to maintain attendance and record for every student and for
every subject. This Project aims at centralizing the management of attendance of students regarding their
admission procedures and their attendance. At present most colleges use manual methods for recording the
attendance records.

The project has a Student Admission section which can be controlled by Office Staff of the college.
And there is also a Attendance section which can be managed only by the staff members of respective
departments. The project is a Web Based system which can be accessed from everywhere through the
Internet services.

The Admission section provides information consisting of Student's Information The Admission
records are required whenever there are new admissions in the college during the start of each academic
year. Each Student is given a Student ID by which it is easier to identify each student in the database. Also it
helps the respective departments to update his/her record efficiently in the database.

The Attendance section provides information regarding the Student's attendance records, defaulter's
list, marks in each subject, no. of lectures taken and remaining. The attendance records can be updated
whenever and wherever the staff wants to by logging in to their respective accounts.Each staff will be given
with a separate username and password based on the subject they handle. Report of the student’s attendance
on weekly and monthly basis is generated. Each subject teacher has access to alter attendance records
pertaining to subject taught by the teacher.Staff which generate records are provided with a separate user-id
but they cannot alter any data.

Functionality:

It helps the Administrative department to access the Student's information wherever required and
also update them as and when required along with the images of the respective documents. The Attendance
section can be managed only by the Staff members. The Head of the respective departments can only access
the records but not change them. The records once updated cannot be manipulated again. Only the Principal
and the Dean has the rights to access each and every department but does not have the permission to change
them. The Principal and the Dean can issue notices whenever required.
