.PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

NEONATOLOGY:
During my 2-years subspecialty training as a Neonatal fellow, I have been actively involved in the medical
management of sick babies; I have gained a lot of experience since it is an integrated fellowship
programmer where I had to rotate in three major hospital ( Hospital for Sick Children, Women's Collage
Hospital and Mount Sinii Hospital).
Being exposed to all types of neonatal diseases, I have gained great experience dealing with premature
babies, babies with congenital Heart Disease and attending high risk deliveries.
I have enriched my knowledge of literature in the dealing with premature babies and sick neonate.
I have been awarded the Certificate/Diploma of Neonatology from Toronto University /Canada and
Hospital For Sick Children in December 2003.
Back in Jordan, I am running the Neonatology Department with another neonatologist ,in one of the
largest referral hospital, KING Abdullah University Hospital, which serves the north of Jordan of about
one and a half million people. While i was the director of the unit we were accredited the JCI certificate

GENERALPEDIATRICS:
I have received a thorough training in general Pediatrics covering out- patient clinic, Pediatric emergency
and different pediatric procedures at Jordan University Hospital which is a teaching and a referral center
for Amman and serves around two million people .
As a member of staff in pediatric department, I am still doing general pediatric stuff, running two
out patients’ clinic, as well as night calls. I am able to deal with any pediatric emergency with
great confidence.

ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE:
I did have the position of a junior lecturer for 15months before getting my subspecialty training,
and since I came back in January 2004, I am an assistant professor in the department of pediatrics
at the faculty of medicine in Jordan University of Science and Technology.
I am teaching the fourth and sixth year medical students, we have 300-350 medical graduates
each year. We have students from almost all the Arab countries; we also have a good number of
students from South East Asia.
At the same time we have a residency program and High Specialization in pediatrics Certificate

program, which is attached to the University. We have 4-6 graduates each year and I am the
programmer director since July 2008.
Since September 2009 I am the head of the Emergency Department where we have a residency
program and High Specialization in Emergency Medicine Certificate program, which is attached
to the university and during which we were accredited JCI certificate.
Since 2007 I am the head of the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation committee and run Neonatal
Resuscitation program and stable course in regular basis, we manage as a team to train around
3000 employee and medical students in different programs. As well I am recognized as a regional
trainer for NRP and I did several courses in different parts of Jordan and several Arab countries.
Since 2007 I am a member of Jordan Medical Council committee for Jordanian Qualification
Exam and I am an examiner for the Jordanian Pediatric Board and Jordanian emergency Board.
With the corporation with the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)/Doctors Without Borders) I have
the chance to train doctors and nurses from Iraq how to take care of sick babies and how to run
the neonatal intensive care unit.
