TITLE :
Apply two equal concurent coplaner force vectors on 'Face triangle apparatus' to
measure their resultant and verify it by splitting the triangular rule and
parallelogram law.
Objectives :
o To find the resultant of two forces experimentaly and verify it by theoretically.
APPARATUS :
· Force triangle apparatus
· Weights
· Threads
· Pulleys
· Hangers
THEORY :
Triangle law of forces : Triangle law of forces states that, If two forces
acting at a point are represented in magnitude and direction by the two adjacent sides
of a triangle taken in order, then the closing side of the triangle taken in the reversed
order represents the resultant of the forces in magnitude and direction.
Parallelogram law of forces : The law of parallelogram of forces states
that if two vectors acting on a particle at the same time be represented in magnitude
and direction by the two adjacent sides of a parallelogram drawn from a point their
resultant vector is represented in magnitude and direction by the diagonal of the
parallelogram drawn from the same point .
PROCEDURE :
Following are the procedure of experiment.
· Clean the apparatus with with piece of cloth. And then tie all threads over pullys
and adjust the ring in middle of circular table.
· Now set required angels with pullys and add some equal weights on two sides as
F1 and F2 and other side as Resultant force R.
TABLE :
COMMENTS :
l Errors must be occur due to thread friction in pullys.
l If apparatus condition is not good then there are chances of error in experiment
which we have perform.
