SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATION

Summary of Findings

The researchers collected data through primary and secondary sources. Primary

data are retrieved from questionnaire and interview with resellers of plants at Tagaytay

City and experts on Bonsai. Secondary data were derived from printed materials, books,

magazines and online publications. Both explanatory and descriptive methods were used

to gather data and describe the facts about the proposed business. The researchers

distributed the questionnaires 100% plus two questionnaires for those businesses who

opens this year 2018 in Tagaytay City. Through convenience sampling, the

questionnaires were distributed directly to the plants sellers in the above-mentioned

place. To compute the supply capacity of competitors, data gathering through interviews

and observation was done. To assess the financial performance and feasibility of the

proposed business, the ratios describe in Chapter 3 were used.

Marketing. The primary products of the proposed business are fruit-bearing

bonsai trees to be offered to the target market. The researchers conducted a survey to

plants sellers companies in Tagaytay City to determine the existing demand for bonsai

plants and the demand for the proposed business. The total demand for non-fruit bearing

and fruit-bearing bonsai in peso for the next five years has totaled to ₱146,079,834 and
52,631 in quantity. Sixty-three percent (67%) of that or ₱98,199,107 is the organizational

demand of the proposed business. The total capacity of supply which is equal to the

existing demand is ₱47,880,727.27 in peso and 23,275 in quantity for the years 2018-

2023. The market share of the proposed project is based on its capacity, which has an

average of ₱1,491,920 that is computed by analyzing the annual expenses of the business.

The business will allocate ₱22,000 for the marketing plan which is needed to be

competent to the target market.

Technical. For the business to operate effectively and efficiently, the production

process of the proposed business is clarified in detail from the buying of direct materials

up to maintaining the plants. It takes months to a year to plant and form a bonsai tree. The

primary equipment or materials needed by the business are the grafted trees which has an

average cost of ₱74,596.20 with pots, river sand, fertilizer and aluminum wire that cost

an average of ₱178,743. An office building will be established at Barangay Hoyo, Silang

Cavite with a cost of ₱30,000.00. The operation hours of the proposed business from

Sunday to Friday starts from 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Every year, the capacity in quantity of

the business is 450 and an average of ₱1,491,920 in peso. The researchers established

quality control actions for the protection and appropriate allocation of assets to make the

operations more effective and well-organized.

Organizational and Human Resource. The researcher considered the proposed

business to use a sole proprietorship of business form, although it will be managed by the

Barangay chairperson, it the most appropriate form of business. The Barangay

chairperson will oversee the business but will require hiring three (3) employee which

one of them will be manager to supervise of the whole business operation, the other two

(2) employee will be the artist of the bonsai plants. The employee will be hired according

to the qualification standard that is set by the owner and will be compensated as

mandated by law. The projected time table for the organization of the proposed business

is eight (8) months, including the preparation of the feasibility study.

Strategic Management. The proposed business’ mission is to offer fruit-bearing

bonsai plants handled and cultured by expert hands that can be bought at reasonable prices while

its vision is to be the top supplier of fruit-bearing bonsai plants in Tagaytay City by 2023. The

researchers formulated the proposed business’s core objectives, key result areas, and

performance indicators that will be essential to realize its mission and vision. Strategies,

programs, and activities that will be used to accomplish the objectives are also identified.

The required resources (i.e., people, peso, physical tools) are also specifically measured.

Questionnaires and assessment report will be used to advantageously evaluate the growth

and the quality of products provided by proposed business. In case the business fails as

originally anticipated, there are planned contingencies, alternatives and exit plans ready

to alleviate the probable damages.

Financial. Accurate assumptions have been made by using the principles of

conservatism, fairness, and carefulness. The computed total amount of capital investment

by the proposed business is ₱1,053,065.43. This capital requirement will be provided by

the Municipality of Silang who will be the one to fund the said business. The annual sales

are expected to be equal to the probable operating capacity for the years 2019-2023, and

the net profit for the second year is ₱375,329.75. The financial study has projected

constant and good revenues performance for the first five years of operations.

Throughout the first five years, income statement demonstrated profitability and lead to

averages of 29.61% return on sales, 46.95% gross profit, and 34.73% return on

investment. The net present value of the proposed project is ₱128,836.25 and its payback

period will take three years and seven months.

Socio-Economic Responsibility. The researchers made policies and activities to

make the proposed business contribute to the society. Aside from being paid and

benefited, the employees will also be participating trainings and developmental programs

which will contribute to the enhancement of their skills. According to the findings, the

owner will receive favorable returns on the investment. The business has its main goal to

help the community of Hoyo. One of the policies of the proposed venture is safeguarding

its obedience with all requirements of the government.

Conclusion

The marketing study shows that the proposed business has a good market share.

The production and operations study ensure the ability of the business in supplying the

orders of their clients and potential clients. The organizational and human resource study

shows the usefulness, truthfulness, steadiness, and productivity of the employees. The

financial study presents the proposed business’ viability throughout the first five years.

The proposed business is also socially and economically responsible by providing extra

benefits to different shareholders.

Recommendation

Based on the findings and conclusions, the researchers extremely recommend that

this proposed business of “Hoyo’s Bonsai Garden” in Barangay Hoyo, Silang, Cavite for

implementation.
