TERMS AND REGULATIONS FOR TILAWAH AL-QURAN COMPETITION

GLOBAL ISLAMIC FESTIVAL 1439 HIJRAH

1.0 MAIN REGULATIONS


1.1 Participants
Open to all students of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

1.2 Competition Terms

 The competition is divided into the participation of women and men.

 Participants should read the surah and initial verse that the contestants have chosen before
the competition.

 Participants are required to inform the organizer of the competition surah and initial verse
that have been choosen.

 Participants are not allowed to change surah and initial sentences last minute.

 If participants are converted, then their score will not be taken into account.

 Participants must be on time during the competition with no excuses.

 Versions are only specified starting number. The last verse number is the verse read out at
the end of the eighth minute.

 Polls to determine the queue for the participants will be held before the event starts or at the
discretion of the organizing committee.

 The organizer will not be responsible for any risks including accidents during the program.

 All expenses / cost of preparation are borne by the participants.

 The organizer reserves the right to REJECT OR REVOKE any participation of any participant
who fails to comply with the requirements of the competition during the competition.

 The organizers reserves the right to cancel or amend this competition if it is necessary to do
so.

1.3 Reading Duration

 Time for each participant is eight minutes (8 Minutes).

 Reading that exceed eight minutes (8 Minutes) will not be counted.

 Participants can read as many verse as possible as long as they do not exceed eight minutes
(8 Minutes).

1.4 Participants Dress Code

 Participants should wear polite clothes, cover their necks and tidy. The participants are
encouraged to wear their national costume if the clothing is still polite, covering aurat and
tidy.

2.0 JUDGMENT

 Quran recitation judgments are divided into four sections as follows:


Tajwid – 40 Marks
Tarannum – 25 Marks
Fasohah – 20 Marks
Voice – 15 Marks

3.0 TASK OF THE JUDGES

 The duties of the Chairman of the judicial panel are the chief judges to organize and
administer the manner of complete judgment and ensure that it is carried out with trust and
confidentiality. DECISION OF JUDGES IS FINALISE.
