Receiving Real Joy
Receiving Real Joy
It is such a great honor and privilege to be your speaker in one of the most awaited yet unexpected
event of your high school life. Unexpected because the last time I checked, LNHS had its last JS prom
when I was still in 3rd year high school, that was way back 2010. Can you imagine that? Wow! 8 years.
So when I got a call from Sir Al asking me to be your guest speaker tonight, I was struck and
exclaimed, ‘Wow, LNHS will have it’s prom again.” So, I decided to accept the invitation. I could still
remember, we were just wearing cocktail dresses before yet here you are now, looking gorgeous
and stunning in your suits and gowns. Do you agree with me? Time really flies so fast. You have really
prepared a lot for this event and that makes me so proud of you guys.
Before I move on to my message, I have three hundred pesos here. I just want to ask three people to
answer my question and you can have this money if you want to. How would you find real JOY in
love?
Now those were brilliant answers. Thank you so much guys. I’m not some kind of LOVE DOCTOR but
just want to share three points for you to consider in order to find real JOY in love. J-O-Y. First is J. Jesus
first. Whenever you are in a relationship, always involve yourself into a love triangle. You may say,
“Ma’am? Why love triangle? Masasaktan na naman kami niyan. Pagod na kaming masaktan at
umiyak magdamag.” Well, let me tell you this beshies. The love triangle that I’m talking about is not
with another person but with God. If you involve God as a center of your relationships and have HIM
as you love triangle, you may have pitfalls on the way but you can still manage to surpass these
dilemmas because He will always be there to catch you when you fall.
What if you are single? Easy. Have a relationship with God. Devote your time to Him. Wait until He
gives you the right person at the right time. I remembered myself when I just graduated from my
bachelor’s degree, I really prayed like this. Lord, please give me a man who would accept my flaws
but will still value my worth and love me despite my imperfections. You can pray like that to, “Lord,
isang babaeng mamahalin ako ng walang kapantay maliban sa iyo.” And when you ask sincerely,
He will never doubt giving the person even better than what you expect him/her to be. Relationships
can never be perfect, but your relationship with God will be, and you will have a joyous one.
