Famous Mathematician Project

This project will give you an introduction to the history of mathematics. Gaining a better
understanding of how the mathematics that you study today first originated will help you develop an
appreciation for and better understanding of the subject as a whole.

You will pick a famous mathematician and make a creative representation of information about your
mathematician. You can create one of the following:

* create a detailed 3-fold brochure with all 6 columns utilized

*Create a detailed hanging mobile that tells the story of the mathematician’s life.

*create a detailed tombstone for your mathematician

*create a shoebox diorama

*come up with another idea and get it approved

You must include all of the following (come see me if you have issues before the project is due):

 Photograph or Drawing of your Mathematician

 Vital Statistics: name, lifespan, birthplace, age at death

 Three historic world events that occurred during his/her life

 Education

 Marital and Family Status

 Occupations

 Three Contributions to Mathematics

 Two interesting events from his/her life

 Quote Attributed to Your Mathematician

***YOU MUST GET YOUR PROJECT IDEA AND MATHEMATICIAN APPROVED BEFORE YOU
START YOUR PROJECT!!!!!
