Q1. Ramesh engages Abdul’ a contractor, to build a three-storied house. After a part is
constructed ‘Ramesh prevents ‘Abdul’ from working any more. Abdul wants compensation for
the work completed so far. What Suit can be filed by Abdul against Ramesh. Explain also the
various types of damages given under remedies for breach of contract.

Q2. Ravi sells goods to Arjun. Arjun pays to Ravi through a cheque. Before Arjun could obtain
the delivery of goods his cheque has been dishonoured by the bank of Ravi. Ravi therefore
refuses to give delivery of the goods until paid. Is Ravi action justified? Give reasons in support
of your answer.
Q3. Arti had given her colour TV to Sudha, the owner of a repair shop, for its repair, on the
payment of certain agreed amount as its repair charges. Sudha had got the colour TV repaired,
as per the instructions of Arti, but when Arti had gone to collect the colour TV from Sudha,
she had refused to deliver it to Arti, unless Arti would pay her the amount in full settlement of
a previous pending bill. Do you think that the retention of the colour TV of Arti by Sudha is
legally justified? Give reasons for your answer.
Q4. Madhav sells 100 kgs of Banana to Rishav and gives him one week for payment. Rishav
does not pay to Madhav. Can Madhav resell those goods to any other person and also explain
whether Madhav requires to give notice to Rishav before selling the goods.
Q5. Mukesh gives some cloth to a tailor for making a suit. The tailor charges are settled at Rs
10,000. After the suit is ready Mukesh tenders Rs 10,000 for the charges but the tailor refuses
to deliver the suit till Mukesh pays an old debt of Rs 1500. Explain whether the tailor is entitled
to do so.
Q6. Sagar agrees to sell to Rahim 25 bales of cotton, provided the ship which is bringing them
reaches the port safely. Demonstrate the type of goods as well as the liability of the seller if the
ship sinks.

developed skin trouble by using it. She did not disclose to the seller that her skin was
abnormally sensitive. Discuss the sellers liability for a breach of implied condition to fitness or
quality.
Q10. Anil enters into a partnership with Sunil, a minor. Identify the validity of the partnership
firm. Give reasons in support of your answer.
Q11. Ganesh introduces Prashant to Kishan as his partner, when in fact he is not so and Prashant
keeps silence. On the faith of the representation Kishan gives credit to the firm. Ganesh
becomes insolvent. Can Kishan make Prashant liable for the credit given to the firm. Identify
the law relating to partnership and give reasons in support of your answer.
Q12. A gives a rough diamond to a jeweller for cutting and polishing. He defaults in paying
the service charges to jeweller. Can the jeweller exercise lien for this? Interpret the case and
give reasons in support of your answer.
Q13. A contracted to take on rent, property for viewing the coronation procession of the king.
Un known to both the parties, the coronation had already been cancelled. Is it a valid contract
between the parties? In the light of the above situation interpret the validity of the contract.
Q14. Ravi Kant started self-service system in his shop. Smt. Prakash entered the shop took a
basket and after taking articles of her choice kept them into the basket and reached the cashier
for payments. The cashier refuses to accept the price. Explain with reasons whether Ravi Kant
be compelled to sell the said articles to Smt. Prakash.
