PDMS Database Error 406

PDMS Database Error 406 occurs when a user exits PDMS improperly, leaving their slot number in the multi-write database. This causes conflicts when the same user or another tries to claim the same element. To resolve it, the CAD coordinator should enter admin mode, remove the inactive user, ensure all users are logged out, and expunge the database claimlist.

PDMS Database Error 406

PDMS Database 406 errors (perceived as a corruption) are usually associated with
multi-write databases. When one or more users have a bad exit from PDMS the
slot number is not removed.

If the designer re-enters PDMS as the same user and tries to make a claim on the
same element, PDMS cannot reconcile who's actually got the item claimed as the
claimlist references point to unknown user(s).

The fix for this is for the Project CAD Co-ordinator to:

o enter ADMIN
o expunge the dead user
o make sure all users are out of the project
o expunge the database claimlist. Project > Expunge > Claimlist and the
form will be displayed.
