2. Transport and erection of the machine

2.1. Transport of the machine

For transporting the machine you must wear personal protective equipment,
such as: Safety shoes, protective helmet, protective gloves.

The machine can be transported by lifting the discharge end of the machine or
by lifting the machine crosswise to the working direction (left/right) using a
fork lift or an elevating truck. The required fork length is 1800 millimetres.

NOTE: Elevating truck and fork lift must have a

sufficient lifting capacity. Be sure not to move
the truck too fast in order to prevent the
machine from falling off.

2.2. Erection of the machine

For installing the machine you must wear personal protective equipment, such
as: Safety shoes, protective helmet, protective gloves.

The machine rests on a vibration-damped footing. The machine feet are

adjustable in height in order to level the machine. A machine foundation is not
required.

The required space depends on the work site conditions. See that the noise
levels do not add up and that there is enough clearance for maintenance and
repair work around the machine.

The machine needs a three-phase current supply with a loadable neutral lead.
The power consumption is mentioned on the type plate. You will find the type
plate inside the control cabinet.
On special request it is possible to adjust the machine to your power supply or
to add a mains transformer.

NOTE: Check the functioning of the protective

conductor.

2. Transport and erection of the machine

In special version the machine needs a connection for pneumatic air (optional).
You must provide the connection.
A maximum nominal pressure of 6 Bar may not be exceeded. The machine is
equipped with a maintenance unit.

2.3. Initial start-up of the machine

NOTE: Checks and works as described below shall

only be carried out by qualified and trained
 electricians.

Before switching on the machine for the first time the phase sequence rotation
of your electrical feed line needs to be checked by a qualified electrician. The
phase sequence must have a clockwise drive! After check-up the machine can
be switched on.
If the phase sequence is not right, you will have to exchange two phases on
your feed line.

CAUTION: Before exchanging the two phases, be sure the

power supply of the machine is switched dead
in order to avoid danger of electric shock.
Where injury is suffered from an electric
shock, this can range from burns to death!

NOTE: A check-up of the rotary field will also be

required, if the machine is used on various
mobile work sites in your factory.

5. Product adjustment

5. Product adjustment
The machine must be adjusted to the product and the film quality.

5.1. Shrinking of the film

The shrinking result depends on the following factors:

• Passage speed
• Temperature
• Control of air flow

5.2. Passage speed

The Passage speed depends on film quality and thickness.

Even minimum changes of the Passage speed may affect the shrinking result.
If the Passage speed is set too high, the film will not be shrunk smoothly. If
the Passage speed is set too low, the film will be shrunk too much.

5.3. Temperature

The adjustment of the Temperature depends on film quality and thickness. Be

sure to only use as much heat as necessary. When working a thicker film or
running at a higher passage speed, you must increase the Temperature.
5. Product adjustment

5.4. Control of upper air flow

A B C B A

7. Accessories

7. Accessories
Your Shrink tunnel can be equipped with several accessories. The equipment
depends on which accessories were included in your order.

7.1. Film pressure rollers (optional)

The Film pressure rollers are fitted at the discharge end of the machine. The
Film pressure rollers will press the film to the sides of the pack, if the products
are sleeve-wrapped.

SETTING:

Open the clamping screws and make the necessary adjustment. Adjustment is
effected from the middle of the transport. Use a product as sample for your
adjustment. The Film pressure rollers must exert a slight pressure to the sides
on the still soft film. In doing so, be sure to observe the spring travel of the
Film pressure rollers.

7.2. Film blowing device (optional)

The Film blowing device is used to blow the bottom film upwards, if products
are sleeve-wrapped. As a result the products are better closed on the sides.

SETTING:

The Film blowing device must be adjusted to the width of the packaging
product. Open the clamping screws in order to do so. Adjustment is effected
from the middle of the transport. In doing so, be sure to observe the angle in
which the air escapes. Use a product as sample for your adjustment.

INFORMATION: If the pneumatic pressure for blowing the film

upwards is set too high, the shrink tunnel
will cool down too much.

7.3. Pre-shrink station (optional)

The Pre-shrink station allows a prior fixing of collation packs. This might be
necessary for some products.

SETTING:

The Pre-shrink station is fitted at the infeed end of the machine. Please refer to
the appendix of this operation instructions for more details. The Pre-shrink
station is specific to design.
7. Accessories

7.4. Cooling station (optional)

When running at high speed or working very thick film the cooling process of
the film can be increased.

SETTING:

The Cooling station is fitted at the discharge end of the machine. You can
switch the Cooling station ON or OFF by a separate switch. Adjustment is not
necessary.

7.5. Transport overrun (optional)

In case of a voltage drop the bars transport will overrun for a couple of
seconds. If the keys CONTROL OFF or EMERGENCY STOP are pressed,
the working sequence will be interrupted immediately.

INFORMATION: Check whether there are still products in the

shrink zone. In this case the products must be
removed.

CAUTION: After switch-off the Shrink tunnel will

still keep its shrink temperature for a while.

the shrink zone! Such injury may lead to
major burns.

CAUTION: After the machine has been switched OFF, the

condensers will still carry voltage for a couple
of minutes.
Be sure to check the voltage on the
condensers, before starting any repair work
inside the control cabinet. The operating
voltage under loaded conditions is 270 Volt
DC.

7.6. Rail for revolving bars (optional)

When working Polyolefin film the packaging products must be transported on

revolving bars. Therefore you must press the Rail for revolving bars towards
the transport.
7. Accessories

SETTING:

You will find the turning lever for pressing the Rail for revolving bars towards
the transport beneath the machine infeed on the control cabinet side.

7.7. Production monitoring (optional)

The transport of the shrink tunnel is monitored. In case of a fault during

transport of the products, the heaters will be switched off. Transport is still
running. The fault will be displayed by means of a red alarm lamp.
You must immediately remove all products from the shrink channel.
