Budget Spreadsheet How To

Welcome to my simple budgeting spreadsheet! This sheet is designed as a simple tool to organize your finances, and to be used in
conjunction with other tools. It's not meant to replace other budgeting tools, but to provide a simple start to budgeting. These
Instructions will teach you how it works, how to best use it, and how to make a copy!

This is the Budget summary section, it's formatted to help you see three things:

1- Expenses breakdown chart- this is a visual summary of where you spend your money. Does it all go to paying bills? Do you spend
all your money on takeout? Look at where your money is going and decide if that’s what your priority should be.

2- Expenses VS income- this is another way of visualizing your budget. The bar graph showing expenses vs income allows you to see
just how much of your money you are using every month on pre-allocated expenses. Are you left without any pocket money because
its all going to bills? Do you have a bunch of money left over each month because you aren’t putting any away in savings? Use this as
another tool to see where and how you can save.

3- Flexible Spending and Savings- This is the key to this particular spreadsheet. Here you will see ho much money you can spend on a
daily basis and not go over budget. As long as you don’t go over that daily spendable amount you should have enough to pay off
everything else you need to and save the way you’ve decided to save. Because some payments are due in the beginning of the month
vs the end of the month your spending may change dependent on your payment period. Because of this your daily spendable is also
divided by Beginning of the month vs End of the month- allowing you to adjust your spending dynamically.

The income section is made to allow you to input your income.

Select from monthly, bi-monthly, and weekly income. There is an
extra income section to add any regular income that isn’t
accounted for. This section also allows you to select what percent
of your paycheck will be put into savings.

The credit card section is meant to help you see how long it will
take to pay or cards, what your interest is, and how much you’re
spending overall on credit card payments monthly.

Your expenses is divided into 5 sections:

Utilities: monthly utility payments for your house, apartment, or car

Other Bills: Any other regular monthly payments you might have
Daily living: Any living expenses such as food transportation or pet supplies. Use this to itemize your daily living.
Subscriptions: Hulu? Netflix? What services are you subscribed to?
Other Expenses: Catchall for anything else.

You can decide what day your payments are due to help you figure out how much money you have at the beginning of the month vs
the end. If you have something that is spread out through the entire month go ahead and select “All” from the dropdown.
